You know I wondered for a bit as to why it's disgusting or shameful; from a biological point of view its suicide for the bloodline but we become so separate from our nature due to industrialization that I really don't have an answer for it asides than that it's wrong because it's wrong.

Actually, I don't think that there are any Biological Factors. Social ones maybe. If you have a twin brother and sister born to a 11 year old girl and a 13 year old boy, and the twins go up for adoption by different families, Then There is every likely hood that if they moved next to each other 5 years later, and grew up as friends, they might become atracted to one another and end up together not realizing that they are brother and sister. It is probably more likely that conformation to societal norms is the "factor" which acts on family members living together, because they grow up being aware of who their father/mother/brother/sister is.
