I'm not sure how anyone can be "goaded" into saying something they aren't already predisposed to say. It would be nice if we could wave our magic wands and get people to say things that get them in trouble, but I, for one, don't have that power.

Come off it, tenguy...if there was any bullying going on here, deidre was every bit as guilty of it as anyone else. You're just being protective of the person you're delusional enough to THINK deidre really is.

I know it, and you know it....but deidre cultivated the remarkable ability to be bully and victim within the same persona. You have to admire that.

 

I apologize to everyone but I simply cannot leave just yet when part of the original six seems to want to continue to proclaim some kind of righteousness over me. Kimiko, if giving my opinion of how I have been treated by the mods is grounds for a ban here so be it. Their treatment of me is not going to be seen by any of you, it is my perception and not yours. I find the continued behavior of you and the other five to the most rude and crass of any here. I take full blame like I said but to say I have done anything so wrong as to be banned is wrong. I love how the he/she/it continues and to me that speaks volumes about all of you and who you are as human beings.

 

Different forums different rules. One thing they all have in common, the owner and the mods decide matters of membership. If it were true that Dierdre were trying to undermine the integrity of the moderators by scattering accusations of bias, I for one would blame no Mod or owner for getting pissed. But if the rule were not posted, if no warnings given, I would support Dierdre in saying they were unfair. They were not. So a 2-year contributor is being banned for going over the edge. Much like other sad occurrences you hate to see it but it happens. It happens.

Take me for instance. On another forum I was a member for 12 years. I was the fifth person to join. On this forum I am number 93,835. Want to know your number? Hover your cursor over your name and look at the bottom status bar. A site URL ending with member.php?u=##### will appear. On this site it's u93835.

One day the fifth member of another site (me) posted an opinion (mine) of the behavior of another member with whom I'd had a negative personal encounter. Said member had joined the site almost a decade after I did, but she obviously had a closer relationship with the site owner than I realized. Without warning and within 2 hours I had received a half dozen PMs of support from people who had similar encounters and then I was terminated without warning or discussion. A request for an opportunity to open a discussion was declined. My IP was blocked. In that same month and the month that followed several more legacy members (decade plus) received the same treatment for having socks, and other minor indiscretions. The mods and the owner found their ban hammers and weilded them indiscriminately. Fair or unfair is no longer an issue as I wont be back there. But ... Lesson learned.

Sorry to see Dierdre go but it's their house and we are guests. Mind your manners and wipe your feet. If you don't like your hosts rules or conduct, you can log off and stay away. If they decide they don't like you, there is little you can do, but launching a big dramatic tirade is probably not the first thing you should try.

Not delusional about Deidre at all, not delusional about any of the members of this forum. Unlike you, I am also not delusional about the mob effect that was clearly demonstrated in three or four threads over the last few days.

You also misunderstand who or what I was defending. There is no reason for a mass attack on anyone in here.

I just got through saying, deidre, that it is NOT your opinions that got you to where you are, and I still don't see any evidence of ill-treatment directed at you by the mods.

And as for the he/she/it business, you were guilty of that yourself, and you know it.

Despite all of that, I did not agree with your being banned, and I said so.

 

I see no evidence of a mass attack, if by that you mean there was some sort of behind-the-scenes conspiracy directed at deidre. People that like deidre said their piece, and so did those who don't. It's as simple as that.

But your statement implies, once again, that you think of deidre as a vulnerable little flower that you have to crank up your testosterone to defend against unwarranted attacks by big, bad bullies, and I simply don't think that's reality.

 

I am sorry Kimiko but if Stumbler is the worst member here you are #2 without a doubt. I have no delusions about who you in fact are because I could tell exactly who you are the first month I was here and it is not what everyone else thinks. Unfortunately for you I am who I have always said I am but you could never really accept this as fact. Your first post on this thread stated you really did not care if I became banned but then in your subsequent posts you defend my banning and gloat with glee. It really is sad that members think of you as something you are obviously not.

I also don't see any gloating, and don't see anyone crowing about how great they are. If you can show me where someone is doing that, I'll take it all back.
