  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

I've never really liked the whole anime nerd label.

The best way to make fun of anime nerds is to point out how damn hypocritical some can be. They profess to LOVE Japan but only love the most superficial things about it, like anime and video games and j-pop. But why Japan? JUST because they made a lot of this stuff? They never go into the actual culture, they just love the anime and the cute big eyed girls.

As for anime itself, I suppose its just that Japan is one of the few countries that takes animation seriously. Those of us who grew up on cartoons wanted to continue watching cartoons but, since we've grown up, want them to be more mature. Anime is one of the few types of animation that really does that. It's fine, and there are some that I like. Anyone who's heard of GaoGaiGar is going to get a hug from me.

But MAN, some people just get way too into it. I dont find Japan to be some sort of haven for nerd-like stuff. I like American RPG's better then Japanese RPG's, some developers like Kojima have made games that are a good mix of Japanese and American styles of gaming and storylines. And I LOVE DC comic cartoons, especially Batman cartoons. They're my real childhood heroes.

Japan has vending machines for EVERYTHING >_>

I don't give two shits about Japan, they just happen to have some really good anime shows and their video games are usually good. I don't care if Final Fantasy is made in Japan or USA, it's still good no matter where it comes from.

Make no mistake, a Final Fantasy made in the U.S would SUCK, and judging by the fact that you'd even consider they'd make an FF game in the U.S, I'm actually wondering about your level of nerd, since mine is clearly higher.

Not to suddenly be a hypocrite and say that Japan makes better RPG's. They just have their own style.
See, Japanese RPG's are very stylistic, very epic and heavy with plot. It's been explained that they usually tend to have young main characters because their stories during the games are of them coming of age. As such, they have to be plot intensive, since in order for you to keep playing, you need to care about the characters and their experiences as you play along.

American RPG's tend to go the other way, mostly looking at Bethesda with Oblivion and Fallout 3, but also Mass Effect and Fable. They tend to be BIG games, promising to let you make your own story. As such, your character is given a back story, but their appearance, clothing, fighting style, ect, are set by you to your liking, and you get to decide. Many of the latest American RPG's are taking this route, usually including a morality system so your character can be even more individualized. They may or not be plot intensive, but usually involve lots of little side quests.

Having played both, there have been some Final Fantasy games I've enjoyed, but I much prefer the American style of RPG's due to their "Make your own story" style of games, I've spent countless hours in Oblivion and Fallout 3 because of that, and only got about 4 hours into Final Fantasy 13 before I got a little bored of it.

ooo man! i saw that on friday! utterly badass! especially with Jensen Ackles voicing the red mask (Supernatural guy). I was surprised and quite pleased with the level of violence, swearing, and over all badassery. My one negative point about the movie was that they didn't get Kevin Conroy to play batman...because obviously...HE IS BATMAN!!!

I argure with my girl over who's the better Joker (Mark Hamill or Heath Ledger, it's Mark Hamill, BTW) and spent $100 on Batman:Arkham Asylum, just for the Batarang(not that I didn't want the game). Giant game library, and vast knowledge of most anime. Plus other stuff.

Oh? I'm not sure how. I was just making the point that an American made FF would suck.

Yes, it was amazing, probably the best out of the recent DC animation videos (though I havent seen Batman Superman: Public Enemies yet). They're all really good, they just need more exposure.

Lol, that's a tough thing to argue. I grew up on Batman the Animated series and followed every series all the way up to Justice League Unlimited, and Mark Hamill's Joker was always my favorite, no matter what. There's a nostalgia factor, but mostly, he just has a creepy ass laugh.

Heath Ledger's Joker, on the other hand, fit perfectly well into Nolan's Batman universe. Mysterious, grungy, unruly. His jokes werent....clever, but they were shocking. The pencil trick caused a lot of people to gasp in horror at the movie theater. Me and my friend laughed. It got the message across.

I honestly couldnt pick which one is better, only because we wont be able to see more of what Ledger can do as the Joker. It would have been amazing to see him in another Batman movie.
