Really, What the bleep? The movie put out by Jay Z knight, the alleged psychic that can talk to ramtha the 2000 year old atlantean?

Pfff... If there is one movie in the world which spouts more disinformation about quantum theory, I don't know what it is.

 

Seriously though What the bleep do we know, was the first salvo in the new "quantum woo wars" Quantum ≠ magic.

 

Like I said... pretty graphics xD I don't know anything about quantum physics but the movie led me to believe that it was similar to psychology... some of it's real... the stuff that is steeped in other areas of study (for psychology this would be biology for quantum physics this would be..... regular physics?) but the majority of it is bullshit (DSM can SUCK IT. fucking... created for census... same defs.. *grumbles*).

Are you saying this is wrong? And no matter what your view of the movie *wide grin* I gotta say, speaking in layman terms strictly.... the pretty graphics made my small mind giggle.

Yeah, basically. Even esteemed quantum physicist Michio Kaku has explained that the whole M-verse theory would only work if those parallel universes were absolutely and completely separate from ours with literally no way to interact.

I personally take the Neil Degrasse Tyson stance on superstring theory.

 

That last one would be Gantz I watched it a few weeks ago. I liked it, but it did have a real WTF ending to it; btw two words "Butter Dog". Berzerk and Ghost in the Shell are a couple of other seinen style anime you might check out. Others I know to be seinen: Basilisk is a good one if you want a star crossed lovers theme. I thought Darker Than Black was amazing, the second season was less so. Hellsing is a good one too though I'd go for the manga version or the Hellsing Ultimate anime over the first Hellsing anime that was released. Black Lagoon was interesting, especially the couple of episodes with the twins at the beginning of the second season. What I've seen of Tenjou Tenge was pretty interesting. You might also check out Speed Grapher. Yeah it has the damsel in distress thing going on, but there are some really twisted moments that make it worth watching.

Minor Spoiler: The mother of the female lead in Speed Grapher abuses her. At school her teacher notices signs and gets the girl to tell her about it then promises to take things up with her mother and help her. The girl comes home from school to find her (female) teacher in her bed with her mother.

Anime-Soul Eater sucked!(manga awesome!!!) Reborn! is pretty cool too and tons of other shonen stuff. Big fan of Defense Devil, Usiho and Tora, Maken-ki, and Gamble Fish. decent fan of Deathnote, one of the few serious anime I like really, and also don't underestimate my anime nerdyness!

Sui-tengu (Speed Grapher) is one of those villains I really like. He's got many admirable qualities and considering certain things about his past I find it difficult to fault him for his actions.

Ah, I love spreading the word about a particularly good bit of geekery. Speaking of, no one knows of The World Ends With You for the DS?

 

Of the manga and anime I've seen that have been considered shonen I've liked the following: Bleach (a huge favorite of mine), Naruto, Rurouni Kenshin (the 1st and 2nd seasons, third kinda seemed anti-climactic), Yu Yu Hakusho, Fate/Stay Night, InuYasha (one of my first anime), Evangelion AKA Eva, Rah Xephon (It's a rip off of Eva, but I thought it was done better), Digimon (first season was excellent 2nd ok stopped watching during the third). Slayers (all of them), Full Metal Panic (all of them), Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop.

Other Series I liked would be: Witch Hunter Robin, Heroic Age, DNAngel, Outlaw Star, Black Cat (has some homoerotic overtones), Last Exile, and AzuManga Daioh.

I didn't care for it, but for those of you who happen to like the male/male homoerotic *looks at cupcake* Virus Buster Serge.

 

In 2009, I watched the entire first season of Digimon and in 2008, I watched the second season. The first season is VASTLY superior to the first, mostly because of Myotismon.

 

I assume you meant the second season was superior to the first in your opinion, I would guess you wouldn't post to agree with me. It's a matter of taste so I won't argue it. I just never got into the second season the same way I did with the first.

 

I'll check out some of those. I liked Darker than Black, but it was only okay. I didn't get that "oh wow" that I got from Full metal alchemist, I never cried. okay, except for when the cat died. BUT HOW COULD HE DIE HE WAS A CAT CAT'S CAT DIE. correction- his human side died. but still.

I don't like the gantz anime... but I think it might be better than the manga just because it will be quicker. who knows.

I am actually one of the few people that don't like "Ghost in the shell". I realize that it is popular not only with anime nerds but with comic nerds too.....

but I simply think it is too PREACHY. I would rather have the morals and themes people want to get accross SHOWN in my animated art rather than TOLD to me.


Maybe I'll change my mind when I watch it in order.

Ah, so the majority people disagree with the string theory? I really shouldn't ask questions that pertain to ANY of the scientific feilds.... I have never paid much attention in those classes, aside form the "natural" sciences we were force fed in kindergarden. blech, tastes like magma.


Still, I'm confused, tv and school taught me it was the new giddy go lucky "Everyone's favorite" theory. Also, quantum physics can't be all crack shit (yay new expression) since a man created an equation to explain rouge waves using it.

 

I liked the bits of the soul eater anime I saw, though that whole bit with the girl being all happy all of a sudden cause her daddy was liking her was sorta gag worthy.

There is an anime that I suspect is american that is either shienen or shounen (more likely) called somthing like "world's end" or something to do with adam and eve... I read it once on a visit to Borders. It was GREAT but I can't find it online ANYWHERE. Hence why I suspect if not american writers than american publishing.

I want to rewatch them but I figure it will be like when I watched that episode of Xena- horrible now that I am grown up.

 

I've not watched FMA yet, it's on my list though.

Beware any science mentioned in a sci-fi or fantasy setting. The writers like to slip soft science in as often as the real stuff, for instance genetic memory as it's presented in Dune or Assassin's Creed.
