Yes, first season is vastly superior. If you watch it again these days it still holds up because you notice messages and story elements that you never picked up on before so anyone who hasn't watched it since they were a kid should go ahead and do so.

Yeah, but so are most other shonen anime and manga. That type of camaraderie and friendship stuff is an identifying characteristic of shonen. There were also those times that characters (Tai and Matt that I remember) gave into their darker side and their digimon dark digivolved.

 

Matt and Tai fought each OTHER as well. Like, fist fight.

It also addresses issues like inattentive parenting (Sora's mom), divorce and the effect on kids (TK and Matt), the downside of being a genius and the effect of finding out you're adopted (Izzy), loyalty (Tai and Kari), and growing balls (Joe and Mimi).

 

I know all about the downsides of being smarter than average. It's hard to relate to others when you constantly have to dumb things down or speak over their heads. School was torturous because I finished a lesson in fifteen minutes and spent the next half hour fighting boredom while the teacher continued to explain things to the rest of the class. Group assignments tended to dump a lot of the work on me because I had the reputation of being smart. Boredom is another problem because my memory is so good few things have replay value.

i am the worst kind of slacker... for example I got a B in my summer religion class that I missed half of, and that was only because ten percent of the grade was attendance.

So I'm dumb... but I have potentially easily to be the best in my class x3

In other words I'm the worst kind of person: lazy.


x3 it really sucked in high school cause I was always getting trouble in because I was reading books during class lessons.

And I think people would generally think of me as dumb until test time came around and all of a sudden they are asking the ditzy girl for the answers on the test or how come she was the only one that got an A on her project...

x3 I think the first time I noticed this phenomina of people totally flipping their view of me was middle school/highschool. We would get a math test with one big problem and after the teacher mentioned my name as one of the few people that aced it I would find, insultingly, that everyone in the class had a shocked look on their face and whispered together. I mean really... did I seem that dumb?

Or like I said in highschool when I was one of the only two people who aced the history-english combo midterm essay. It was funny because like I said I'm a slacker so unless I have a certain task in front of me I am LOST especially in subjects like history. And after that essay I found that when my name was brought up people tried to get in my group... One kid actually said "yeah I'm in Miranda's group" "why is that a good thing?" "you're smart right?" "dude, I know nothing of this project".



:l sadly, my slacker skills seem to not be as affective in college since some classes have a "three abscences and you fail" policy.

yes.. in recent years bugs bunny.. transformers.. strawberry shortcake.. the huntch back of notre dame disney movie.. all have very sexual themes that i didnt notice when i was younger.. in fact huntch back made me question whether i should let my little siblings really watch it..

in the hunch back there was a song by the priest guy that had these flames outlined to look like women and they were dancing VERY provocatively.. not to mention esmerelda in the movie was doing a gypsy dance that was kind of um.. inappropriate.. lol!!
