Eric your so called sensible answer here is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever heard. A writer is supposed to make the characters feel real. So when you are getting sexualy aroused over this story, you are getting aroused over a six month baby. So if you think an objection to sex with a baby so young is ridiculous, you just carry on jerking over it. You can have no feelings of guilt anyway.
I felt that was worth repeating also.

 

If you can not see the huge, monumental difference between a story, and real life, then you need help.
No matter how much you insist that this has anything to do with reality, it doesn't, and never will.
All I can say is never play video games, because the guilt for killing all those unreal people just may just drive you mad.

I believe that people should have the right to say what they want. If that were not the case, this entire site would not exist.

BUT

With every right comes a responsibility. In this case, the right to say what you want comes with the responsibility to guard what you say. Be honest but tactful, and sometimes, say nothing at all.

That's why I hold myself to a different standard than I hold anyone else. As an author, I accept any comments on my stories (although if the tone is hostile, don't be surprised if I reply with sarcasm or equal hostility. I figure that's fair). As a reader, I try to keep my tone positive even when providing constructive criticism.

The same thing goes for voting. I won't complain if someone votes down my story legitimately, as long as they vote only once. If they tell all their friends to vote down my story too, I figure that's also fair. The only thing I'll complain about is if someone votes more than once (by exploiting multiple IP addresses, for instance).

But I will never vote down a story based upon content, unless they leave that content out of the tags. I will only vote negative if it's clear the author had no intention of putting any effort into their story.

 

My final take on the situation is this. If a story is posted here on the forums, the reader has every right to praise or complain about the content. I feel the forum is a showcase; and the writer will get a much broader view of reader opinion.

I would never go looking for the story on the story site to vote down. On the story site I do avoid reading stories with tags I do not like. However when they are brought on to the forum they are inviting scrutiny. They can be criticised or praised here, but not voted up or down. Controversial topics will bring controversial comments.

 

Yeah. That's kind of me too. Posting to the forum opens you to actual members critiquing your work and the majority not being privy to it. Then again the infant stuff never interested me so I didn't feel the need to read it in the first place, thus never seeing a reason to argue with someone who was into it or wrote it for a reaction.
