Tonight I was watching a show called "My ghost stories." It was basically a show where people talk about there encounters with the spirit world. Now personally I have never had anything happen to me. But I like hearing about it. We can leave religion out of this. There is enough threads for that. But if anybody would like to share their own encounter with a ghost, please do! I know some people will say "This is a porn site! Why are we talking about ghosts?" But this is in the general discussion forum & it is an interesting subject.

 

While the question is an interesting one, and I am inclined to be dismissive, let me say this instead: please consider all possibilities, keeping in mind that just being human makes you likely to have brain failures. We are all likely to see/hear/remember things differently than they happened, or even remember things that didn't happen at all. It is worthwhile, if something really seems spooky, to go and investigate it! if you hear a strange noise, see if you can find the source. If your experience happens in bed, consider that it is possible to have very realistic waking dreams while exhausted, or while on the verge of sleep.

There are people I respect who investigate these sorts of things, and they aren't psychics, mediums, or kids with a van load of meters and gauges.

 

when I was 10 years old I had broken my knee by a football accident (go figure, right on my birthday...what a shitty day, lol) and for 5 months I was stuck at home in a leg-cast unable to move for the life of me. i had noticed things initially but all this free time made me really realize what was going on (i had 5 months of time off school PLUS summer break, I had alot of time to myself while my parents were gone to work).

My dog (Doberman) had started barking every night around 4:00 am and running up and down the hall, every time we (by WE I mean my parents) checked, there was nothing, nothing outside, not even a cat or a skunk...
I also had this piggie bank that, whenever you waved your hand infront of it, would make a noise. Eventually it started goign off on its own while I was sleeping. My parents got sick of me freaking out for nothing and put it up in my closet, on the shelf that is above the coat hanger, FACING THE WALL. That mother fucking piggie bank kept going off. Every night until we took out the batteries at about a half hour before my dog would start to bark.

The worst part while I was living in that home was, one night, I was laying in bed, watching some tv (I had nothing better to do, I had a PS1 in the basement which I didnt dare go into because I was scared shitless of that place) and out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone peeking into my room (like, looking around a corner all stealthily) my parents had been in bed for like 5 hours and I knew it was neither of them, when I looked I didnt see it, I know I wasnt seeing things because right after (I mean, not even a seocnd afterward) my dog started to go bat-shit crazy running up and down that hall, barking, howling and even whining super loud. I had never screamed so loud for my parents in my whole life.

We moved out a week later when my bird (still alive to this day) started screaming like fucking crazy every night after we had put him back into my room.

 

Was watching a comedy special the other night and Paul Mooney made a pretty good argument as to why there is no such thing as ghosts. Of all the blacks that were enslaved you'd think there'd be black ghosts terrorizing the shit out of white people and you never hear about such ghosts.

 

Actually lookin there have been cases of people seeing the ghosts of dead slaves. Personally I have trouble believing in this stuff. I just find it interesting. Most of the stuff I see on t.v like "ghost hunters" & "ghost adventures." Can be faked. Anything on t.v can. Which is why I have such trouble. But I can't say for certain that there isn't anything. Too many people have dealt with their own hauntings.

If ghosts exist they seem to appear in houses where they once lived as people. They also seem to appear where tragic deaths have occurred.

 

Read the book Black Heart Hope Horror (it's non fiction). This book inspired the Spielberg Poltergeist movie. Near Lake Houston (far northeast Houston) they built a subdivision on top of a black cemetary. The cemetary was former slaves who lived and worked on the McKinney farm.

Mooney should do better research.

I was born in a house that had a tolkas in it (google it). We moved out when was six.

Couple of decades later, while stationed at New Mexico Military Institute, I decided to debunk an article that said there were 38 ghosts on campus (I thought it a bit much). After careful research, I was able to find two buldings with something unexplained going on. Also, there's an old locomotive bell on top of a small tower. Fastest way to get your ass kicked is to go near the bell. Legend has it that when the bell rings (by itself)-the next day a student will die.

 

I've seen my sister (who died very young after being run over outside my mums house) in my room, i never met her as i wasn't born at the time.

When it happened i was laid on my bed with my fiance (at the time) who was asleep... This was early evening so i know i wasn't tired or anything.
I saw her across the room at the wall a few feet off the ground as a young girl in a white dress holding a basket with what looked like flowers in it.
At the time i didn't recognise who it was as i was a bit freaked but i didn't take my eyes off her. She didn't move except her hair and dress as if there was a breeze moving through the room. She appeared and left in the same manner of like where you see a camera out of focus and slowly come in... Hard to explain but it was like fizzing in from nothing to a clear image, remaining for some time and then going again. I have no clue how long she stayed but to me i can only guess as between seconds upto about 20 minutes because of the time i saw on my clock before and when i finally checked the time was between 8:05 and 8:22 in the evening. Obviously i didn't check the time before and after it happened which is why i can't know how long she was there, thats just what i have in my diary.

Years later i was at my dads house and while looking through pictures of family i found one of the exact clothes i saw her in including the basket at a street festival type thing like where people line the streets to watch floats go by and was told i turned 'grey' when i was looking at her for about 10 minutes.

Of course everyone i tell comes up with a million and one reasons as to why it didn't happen etc but i know what i saw.

Dunno if this is the sort of thing you wanted to hear when asking for ghost encounters but there we go.

I've watched many ghost programs since but things never seem to be right like with noises etc happening and everyone running around screaming to me it's all fakeable.

I have now not watched and programs like that anymore.

 

A number of years ago I used to go to a restaurant and bar in the city where I live. It had been owned by the same man for about ten years, but it was in a building that was over a hundred years old, and it had always been a restaurant and bar.

Once while I was alone there with the owner, he told me that some evenings after the restaurant was closed, and he was in the office in the basement he would hear the door open, and two men and a woman would walk in, laughing and talking. They would play jazz music on the jukebox.

He knew the door was locked, the lights were out, and the jukebox did not have jazz music on it. When he walked upstairs he saw nothing.

Several days later I talked to an employee, and he told me the same story. He also said that he used to live right above the restaurant, and sometimes he would hear jazz music below. Of course, they may have been making this up. but it did not seem like it.

I wanted to ask if I could take a sleeping bag there, and spend the night some time, but the restaurant soon closed.

After the restaurant closed, I told a bar tender at another bar about what they had told me, and she said, "Of course. That restaurant is haunted," as though it was common knowledge.

 

When I was younger I liked to go into cemeteries after dark. Sometimes I would smoke marijuana. I never saw any ghosts. The scariest thing that ever happened to me was when I nearly got arrested.

 

my belief of ghosts is different. in my religion u call them 'jinn'. they are basically a different creation than us which humans cant see them in their original form but the jinns can see us and they can come into any form except the prophets and God.

so they can appear as a completely diff. human or a plant or a chair or anything.


they many a times go in humans body and thus we do exorcism stuff u noe.

there are utube vids too in which you see the jinns in the body of people and how the 'shuyookh' (in this context its basicallly a guy whose expert in removing them) removes it.

some example:
my dad's cllients sis has one in her. he wont let her get married etc. and once mmy dad talked to him; he said he was pakistani and basically they exchanged greetings llike hi (my dad and the jinn).

and these jinns dont come near righteous people such as those religious people. they stay in dirty places such as toilet and near trees (evn tho tree isnt dirty).

there are good jinns and bad jinns etc...
