  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

Apologies if i freaked you out, was actually a lot more pleasant to experience but hard to fully accept when something like that happens when most of the world seems so skeptical.

Thats all i ever experienced though, i tried many times to get to see her again including visiting her grave daily and even spending the night in the cemetry just trying to get it to happen again.

I also found out too from my mom that the wall i saw her at was directly above where her cot and bed were.

As with most people i was totally against all of the stuff concerning ghosts until i saw myself... I don't think anyone who hasn't seen a ghost can say they believe in them until they actually do see for themselves because most people have that doubt in them.

I wasn't really freaked out, although I did get a cold chill. I like your story. But it was sad though. It's always sad when children die.

I'm both saddened and not surprised by the stories in this thread. But the fact that I'm not surprised is even sadder.

Henry James, (1842-1910) who was a Harvard professor, psychologist, and philosopher said that secular people told him they refused to consider the existence of ghosts because if ghosts existed, that existence would require them to change too many other opinions. He also said, "A great many people think they are thinking when they are merely rearranging their prejudices."

I find it unsurprising that the believers in ghosts are in the main believers in gods.

In nearly 50 years on this planet I have never knowingly been in the presence of a ghost, people tell me my house is haunted, the only thing I hear at night is a old house slowly settling after a day in the sun.

The problem with people and ghosts, they only seem to be around in the night when the hauntee is usually tired and more susceptible to illusions, why is that, why don't they come out during the day, why is it that sceptics are never haunted.
In the liefetime of this planet we have seen and lost close to six billion people, there is at the moment six billion people inhabiting the planet, that works out to one ghost per person so where is mine.
No-one has given a believable explanation for what ghosts are, what is the energy that keeps this "spirit" going and as it is an energy where does it get its..... fuel, food, I can't think of a better word than those two.
Why is it that ghosts always seem to haunt tourist attractions.

Just a few thoughts, I admit I might be wrong but then you have to provide conclusive proof that I am to get me to believe, it's rather like religion in that respect but I made that point earlier.

When I told several friends and relatives about the haunted bar and restaurant I mentioned in comment #18, the two who were most interested were atheists. One suggested that I buy a voice activated recorder to give to the restaurant owner. That, of course, is anecdotal evidence, but I thought it was interesting.

When I was in my early teens I was interested in ghosts, and read quite a lot about them. As I got older I concluded that despite a scientific investigation of ghosts lasting about a century and half, there was no proof, so I lost interest.

After the events I recounted in comment #18, I became interested again, although I agree that there is still no proof.

Hans Holzer made a career as a ghost hunter who wrote over 100 books about his investigations. To the best of my knowledge he was never exposed as a charlatan.

In comment #29 I mentioned a poll that indicated that one out of five Americans claims to have experienced a ghost, and that those under 45 are more likely to believe in ghosts than those over 45.

If you were on trial for murder and the evidence presented to you was as weak, anecdotal and circumstantial as the "evidence" for ghosts, you and I both know that you would walk out scott free. None of it even comes close to passing muster.

Just as with god, if you want me to accept ghosts as a reasonable explanation you're going to need more than some feelings and hallucinations.

I was attacked by a ghost this morning!! *Onist* I'm not bulling you!! I was about to get a shower, and there was this great, big hairy motherfucker sitting in the shower stall, bouncing up and down on his long, hairy legs. He was so damned big, I swear you could see naffing eyes move

Anyway, I'm not scared of spiders, don't mind them one little bit. I prefer spiders to flies, and the eight-legged freaks do a great job of keeping the flying population to a minimum. So, I chase him round the shower stall, until eventually I pick the fucker up, and place him on the floor in the corner of the bathroom.

Then, my mind starts to wander, and I'm wondering if he'll be pissed off at me, skitter across the floor and bite my bare toe (I've heard stories of this happening with the 'un'commonly large house spiders - but not sure if it's true).

I turned around, took off the towel that I'd had wrapped around me to hang on the back of the door, when something chuffing falls toward me, like it's fallen out of the towel, or off the door!! I really did scream - Jeez, I thought it was Sebastian Webster, and he hadn't been placed out of harm's way in the corner - but it was a dead moth  Where the SHIT did that come from? There was no moth in my towel - SW hadn't gotten a moth all wrapped up and was carrying him under his arm like a sack of spuds!!

NOOOOOO!! This thing just fell onto my arm, I shrieked, pulled my arm out of the way and let it continue on down to the floor!!

I checked the sheep, to make sure they weren't getting eaten alive by moths; luckily they were okay - thanks for ewer concern :)

Now I'm wondering if your friend Seb is any relation to George the Mirror, he is a lovely spider who by my guess as been living in the door mirror of my car for two years, every morning I get up and there is his new web, I'm telling ya the must be a fair few fly corpse behind that mirror, could be why my car pulls to the right.

Oh and he does like to travel, you should hear him giggle as I hit the motorway, I always seem to hear a little voice telling me. "Faster, faster".

I love my little friend and will be upset if he leaves for a newer car.

Ok, & what do these stories about spiders have to do with the subject? I find it really annoying when people troll in a thread they have nothing real to say in just cause they're bored.

i love what smc had to say. she always makes a thread fun! :)

my mom died when i was ten. my room used to be hers and months after she died i started to get the feeling like i was being watched. later on knocks on the wall next to where i slept became very frequent. one night i awoke from dream to find a hazy, white mist next to me in bed. there was an indent in the bed like someone was laying there. i was scared then but i now know it was just her checking in on me

    2. an online forum member who posts very infrequently

    Ex.

userC: userB is a forum ghost. He may be here. He may not be.

    2. userA: Where's userB and userD? They haven't responded for a week.

userC: They are forum ghosts. It may be a while before you get a response.

    5th dimension

There is no evidence to support that ghosts or anything supernatural exists. And that is the end of it.

But since this is for fun, the only possible way I can ever accept that ghosts or aliens might exist on our planet, is if you take into account the theory of the 5thdimension.
It does not make sense at all for aliens to visit us, they live to far away and we have nothing they could not make themselves if they had the tech to get here.
But beings from other dimensions would have reason to study us because we would be different than them. it would be like us discovering 2 dimensional life forms, we would want to know how they work.
That would explain ghosts as well because visits from 5th dimensional beings would not be truly visible to us, though we would be perfectly visible to them. and while they could interact with us, we would not be able to interact with them.

Here is a link to explain the 5th dimension.

God and ghost. Two of my favorite fairy tales.
One to help us feel safe and the other to make us feel vulnerable. Or is that two that make us feel vulnerable?
