Many atheists adopt the correct answer to this. Which is, we don't know all the answers and most likely wont for a considerable number of generations. Which is why science continues. If it knew all the answers, then science would just stop. Saying we don't know is a perfectly fine answer, and it is the only honest answer. Just because science can't explain everything yet, does not mean that filling the gaps with fairytales is the correct answer. Not only that it doesn't answer any questions, it just replaces one unknown, with another.

Our understanding of our universe after less than 1 second of the big bang, is pretty accurate.

We do not need to prove that god does not exist. It is up to the theists to prove that a god does exist, as they are claiming from a point of authority and knowledge that a god does exist.

An atheist asks where is the evidence for god? If there is no such evidence to support the idea of a god, then there is no reason to presume one exists.

 

Proving that a phenomenon (i.e God) isn't real takes a lot more time and effort than it takes to demonstrate it. This is especially true when the definition of the phenomenon can be changed at will by its believers. Its very difficult to prove the general non-existence of a phenomenon, and this difficulty is used by believers of many kinds of phenomena (i.e. religious nutjobs) to give the appearance of credibility to their beliefs.

if you do not believe in a theory (god) is is up to you to disprove it as much is it is up to the believers to prove it is true

where is the absolute evidence that god dose not exist

for instance

i believe that some where in the universe there will be other intelligent life

i cannot prove it exists so i cannot say to those that say it dose not exist that they are wrong

and obviously the reverce is true they cannot prove that there is not life on another planet


a theory becomes a fact when it can be proven
