A mass e-mail containing illegal material is sent out to numerous people, purporting to come from someone.

Cursory examination of the time those messages were received indicates that the person who they seem to have come from might not have been the actual sender, because the time coincides with a time that the suspect can prove he was elsewhere.

Suddenly, the authorities are wondering, "did someone do this to try to 'frame' the suspect?"

Sure... this all sounds like a GREAT idea!

I have been away from the forum for a while and would like to contribute, seriously, on the paedophile question.


In my case I was abused by my half-brother when I was between the ages of 8-11. For years I did not think about it and my “big’ brother was still a hero to me. When I was about 35, married and trying for a baby, my head popped. Reactive depression and PTSD the works, the survival rate from this must be pretty low and I think only my constitution saved me.


Thanks to my wife, I got treatment (EMDR) and no longer have the conflict between love and the abuse that was done to me. By the time the treatment ended I was in my forties. What now to do with the abuser?

By this time my half-brother is the father to a very well adjusted 20+ year old daughter to whom I am godfather. Do I out her father as a nonce?


I told first my parents which got a mixed response. Then the rest of their generation who did not want to know. My generation, brothers, sisters, cousins, etc. , generally very supportive but none of them confronted my abuser.


Do I have the right to tell the next generation? I have not answered that yet.

Ummm no that is not the case. Even a woman who has sex with a boy underage is still labeled a pedophile, and is required to register as a sex offender. But it is also known that most boys who have a chance to have sex with an older woman do not talk much about it, and they also do not like fall in love like girls will do, then get hurt more often.

Initially I was going to advise you to copy the files owned by your father in law in order to have evidence against him if he destroys the files. On reflection, I realize that would make you complicit.

However, even this is somewhat open to interpretation. What is definitely illegal is photography of a man having sex with a minor - in other words, photography of a crime taking place.

If your father in law is producing photos and videos of himself or someone else having sex with a minor, I in your place, would go to the police. Otherwise, I am reluctant to give you advice. The photos of his daughter, however distasteful, may escape the legal definition because they do not show genitals.

Ok so your at your GF's Fathers home and your on his computer searching through all his files and you happen to come across some files that were quite obviously well hidden on his hard drive...One you say was a pic of a 15 year old girl who very closely ressembles his GF's daughter. Other files contain Pedophilia movies. Ok I am in agreement that if these files are his then he must be turned into to authorities...Problem here is this. If you accessed his hard drive with seemingly no effort (Trying hard here to not mention the fact that your spelling is horrible) How can you be so certain that he is the person who actually uploaded these images and movies? What if the 15 year old girl did? What if you did but are trying to blame him so your GF or Wife or whatever she is will stop accusing you of it. Seems to me that it isn't your Father-in-Law who is on a porn site forum asking for advice on what to do about porn.

 

You watch too much CSI. Once he is reported and his computer siezed and his pedo porn found, it won't matter if it was him sending the mass mailing.

Sure,by all means turn him in.But on a technicality as you have made a copy of the illegal material,as proof in case he tries to delete his files,you have actually committed an offence yourself!

 

If he deletes the child porn, it's still on his computer, it's just deep inside the hard drive, the only way to truly delete something is to have it overwritten i.e reformat the hard drive. If you tell him and he reformats, he could deny everything and your standing there with child porn in your hand in front of police officers.

 

Actually all he needs is a program like BC-Wipe or CC Cleaner.. it will wipe the free space, by overwriting and deleting,

to the poster of this question, do not play games. do not show copies to your gf, wife, ex, whatever, whoever. just contact the cops, let them get a subpoena and raid his house.

DO NOT take it to them. contact the FBI as well to make double sure it gets taken care of. he needs to be caught with it, and it needs to be done NOW.
