  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Once, long long ago in some e-argument thread or another, the topic came up of who lived in a rougher area of the country. I said, much to your amusement, that, per capita, my home town of St. Louis was one the most violent and dangerous cities in the country and that we'd actually been ranked #1 a time or two before.

Well, not that it's actually something to boast about, but we're #1 again.

    Just FYI.

No, but a lot of people are new on the board and they wouldn't get it. So I figured a simple 'to baller' would suffice. If he were to actually respond (which I don't think he will) I would naturally refer to him as Monkey. The little flashback was just an interesting segue.

Oh great ShakeZula, now Baller will probably go out and start killing people at random with his bare hands just to keep from admitting you were right.

It's not hard to see how statistics like these work. St. Louis and the other cities you mentioned are inner cities whose boundaries do not include their suburban areas. You get out in the suburbs of St. Louis and you are no longer in the City of St. Louis. As a result, the crime rate reported in the statistics is not spread over the larger population base of the metropolitan area and looks much higher than it would otherwise be. I would venture a guess that the crime rate within the inner city of Philadelphia (Baller's bailiwick) is roughly the same as the City of St. Louis, but the City of Philadelphia includes considerable suburban territory as well.

Now, how much longer do you think it will be before Distant Lover shows up and blames it all on black people? 10....9....8....7....6....

Yes...but East St. Louis is not part of the City of St. Louis, and not included in the stats. I'm sure it has a very high crime rate per capita, though.

Bryn Mawr is an affluent suburb of Philadelphia, but is not part of the City of Philadelphia. I'm not sure what point you're making.

    I'll beat him to it . . .

The Bell Curve is a reputable examination of the effect on ethnicity on intelligence and has not been thoroughly refuted by any credible persons. I only quote information that is proven to be factual, without bias, and have proven my contention repeatedly while my detractors flame me mercilessly because they have no intelligent response to offer. I am satisfied with this.

After I was out of the newspaper business and AIDs had blown onto the scene I was quietly approached by some business and EMS folks about what they thought was an unsubstantial rumor that our tiny town had more cases of HIV than any town in the state.

I still had some contacts so I looked into to and found out that we had one person that was HIV positive and a homosexual couple had moved back after many years to actually die at home from AIDS. But when they applied those three cases to HIV cases per 100 population we had the highest rate per 100 residents in the state.

It turned out we didn't have to fight it though. They stopped listing HIV cases by town and started compiling only county statistics because some of the towns were so small people either figured out who it was or at least did a lot of unfounded accusing.

    Statistics.

I have to admit you had me going Old Tool. I was just going to my book marked site dedicated to debunking the Bell Curve when I took a second look and saw this was actually you.

I also heard on the news that St. Louis was ranked at the very bottom of either dental health or just teeth, coincidence?

You made the comments that the stats do not reflect the lower crime rates in the surrounding suburbs. E St Louis is a suburb of St Louis.

Bryn Mawr was mentioned for the joke factor. Although I would venture a guess that a lot of crimes are committed there and in Bala Cynwyd.

    E. St Louis, IL is a suburb of St. Louis, MO, it is just across the river like Camden, NJ is to Philly.

And yes it is a bad place.

    Nope.

Bala Cynwyk and Bryn Mawr are suburbs on Philly's Main Line. As are, Ardmore, Narberth, Villinova, Radnor, Wayne and King of Prussia.

Barbarella: You mean the secret password is Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch?
    Dildano: Exactly.
