We all have our physical preferences. I wonder about the behaviors that are turn-offs. What actions or attitudes will put brakes on a sexual encounter with you?

In my case, one of my turn-offs is anyone who thinks they're smarter than they are. I can be in full heat for someone and that will still just repulse me.

 

men that lack confidence and say I don't know all the time or want reassurence all the rime.

 

Like the incessant apologizer?

Tattoos, metal rings, crutches when talking (you know what I mean, you follow me) and vulgarities.

 

Turn offs:
Rude
Domineering (dominance has it's place... there will be no "alpha wolf" in this relationship other than me but I will share it if you don't try and dominate me like I am weaker than you)
Closed minded (my friends are "freaks", we hear it enough)
Pompous (why would you need me if you are stroking your own ego enough for an entire planet?)
Lying (never lie to me... cardinal rule)
Insulting (I hate myself enough for an entire planet, I don't need you to add to it)
Not affectionate (I am fragile and even seeing my reflection can break me)
Lack of personal hygiene (if you stink, I am going to march your ass into the shower and scrub you down until I can get that stench out of my nose... if you are just disheveled or scruffy, then I can live with it)
Neat freak (I am disorganized, deal with it)
Lazy (Unless you have a medical reason you can not do something, then I would expect you to try and make something out of your life)
No aspirations (Really... you enjoy being Jr Fry Guy at the fast food joint? Nothing more you want out of life? Getting top score on a video game is all well and good but it helps no one.)

Well first thing I'd have to say is someone who is unhygienic - I will definitely NOT ever sleep with someone if they are stinky. I also really hate someone whose really cocky and thinks they know everything about sex and where all the right "buttons" are when they actually have no idea.

I take offense to that. o.o There's a horrible trend amongst the mass majority that someone, somewhere is exactly in the middle of the road on every possible thing: They're beautiful, but approachable about it; they're intelligent, but they act so down-to-earth; they're confident, but have no ego; they're romantic, but take charge and rip off my clothes, blah blah blah..

You know what the worst part about believing that bullshit middle-of-the-road ideal that modern society (at least stateside) likes to pound into our heads is? That we'll never be happy! We'll never be content with what we have, because what we have isn't perfect, and perfection exists!.. No, it doesn't. Get over it. -.-

A lot of women claim to want men with confidence. There's nothing wrong with that. However, pride and ego tend to go hand-in-hand with confidence. It might be a small thing, but it might be a massive issue, as well. It comes with being male. Don't believe me? The next time you see someone with a male dog, and it decides to go potty on the grass and then kick it's back feet a few times, watch when the owner praises the dog with a, "Good boy!" The dog will begin to strut. He'll hold his head higher, and he'll huff a little or get this look about him like he's suddenly gone into patrol-mode, 'cause he's the good boy who got praise from the Alphas and he has to protect them now! Overinflated egos can cause problems, to be sure, but everythign has its place, and all things have extremes. Deal with it. -.o

The same logic is easily applied to those who apologize. Having been told I was a fuck-up throughout my entire formative years, I grew up to be an apologizer, because if you didn't say you were sorry, you got beaten with a belt until your ass and thighs were purple, green and black! Since my senior year (my father had to work out of state) and the subsequent years after my graduation from high school, I've grown into my own, so to speak, building up my confidence as I succeeded at the tasks I laid out before myself. Even when I failed, and kicked myself harder than my now thankfully absent father ever could, I still held my chin up, because I hadn't failed, I had succeeded in finding what didn't work! Heh..

To this day, I will apologize for things that I've done or said that may have caused offense. I don't do this because I lack confidence, I do it to avoid conflict. My reasoning still stands that if I am unsure of someone's motives while around me immediately after saying or doing something that could be cosntrued as offensive (crude humor, lewdness, etc.), I will pre-emtively apologize to them. If it helps, just think of it this way: Wouldn't you rather someone apologize to you for something they've done that's hurt/offended you and move on from that, than to be unapologetic for the pain/discomfort they've caused you? I certainly know I would. Would've saved me a few friendships, actually.

That being said, someone who apologizes for simply being who they are does irk me, and I can completely understand that being a turn-off. Hearing, "I'm sorry," after every single thing someone does can get.. bothersome, assuredly. However, I would still rather deal with someone who has no confidence than someone who has entirely too much. Why? Confidence can be built over time, and I, for one, am patient enough to help build it in others. Over-confidence, on the other hand, tends to spring-up like weeds during the first thaw, and only those capable of effectively learning from their mistakes can ever overcome that flaw!

As for the "I don't know" bit, I agree that hearing it after every question gets annoying quickly. However, when it comes to something important, such as, "Hey, so-and-so, what happened on the night of the fifth at Oscar's Bar," to which the reply was, "I don't know, I wasn't there," makes perfect sense and is acceptable. "I don't know" should be used when one doesn't know the answer to the question, not as an interlude to said answer. At the same time, if you don't know, don't fucking pretend like you do!
Honesty is preferrable to bullshit.

Now, with that said, my personal turn-offs include:
- Over-confidence
- Rude behavior
- Over-aggression
- Lack of intelligence
- Lack of common sense
- Dishonorable conduct
- Lies
- Abusive behavior
- Smoking
- Drugs
- General bitchiness
- Rampant misuse of the English language
- Overtly close-minded thinking (Women belong in the kitchen, gays are gonna burn in hell, etc.)
- Overtly open-minded thinking (No, ladies, being able to guzzle the sperm of 12 different men at the same time is not attractive to me, but thanks for trying! )
- Extreme attitudes/behaviors/beliefs (Nazism, Chauvinism, feminism, terrorism, any-ism. -.o)

Seriously, though, I didn't notice them until several minutes later, and it was too late to edit them by then. I honestly despise not being able to edit my posts, despite the logical reasonings behind that design decision!
