I frankly find tattos to be banal and silly. Kids think they are sooo cool and girls think it makes a guy a "bad boy." girls get them because they think its sexy and to be honest...they arent. Especialy when they get to be alittle older.Then they just look shitty. But a sense of belonging can be bought and tattoos seem to be the way to do it.

 

I have 7 tattoos, i had my first at 40 years old so they werent some young drunken foolish whim that i had, all my tattoos have had a great deal of thought put into them, and each one has a special meaning, some i designed myself, the others all except one, i told the artist what i wanted with a rough sketch and she drew it up. My son was wanting one but the design he wanted i thought he would regret in years to come, and told him to just bide his time a bit because once its done its done etc, and he did, and now he said he is glad he waited and i talked sense to him.

I love to see tattoos on people but only ones that you can tell that thought has gone into not, like silly cartoon characters etc.

 

They can be quite sexy if they're good and well thought out.
Just make sure you get your artists work history-- my lotus ended up looking like an artichoke. I'm getting it fixed. That's always an option for your son. If he got 3, I don't think he's gonna stop. They're pretty addicting.

I'm against tatoos.

 

I love tattoos, very very addictive. I have 10 or so, got my first one when I was 15 but my mother came with me to get it, she and I spoke to the artist for about a week before hand to make sure everything was ok. All my tattoos have very personal meanings to me and will never be regretted ever.

Its important that they have a special meaning and aren't just because you can. Also a good point to draw your own or have your own ideas and concepts. Most of mine are drawn by me so that noone else will have the same ones.

What the hells a tramp stamp? I seen someone mention it.

A tramp stamp is a tattoo right across your lower back. The tattoo (usually tribal) that a lot of whores my age have on them.

 

Or they can say "Welcome Aboard!"

well you may call it a tramp stamp but I wouldn't class it as one, as it starts at the base of my skull and finishes on my lower back. What do you think that would come under as? X
