If you saw "Saw" then you got the idea, and Saw 2 and 3 really didn't add much.

My favourite? What day is it? This has probably changed since the last time I posted a favourite:

The film I most enjoy watching again and again: Shawshank Redemption
The film that got me most excited the first time I saw it: Star Wars (but I was only 7 at the time!)
Best film I've seen for the first time this year: "Citizen Kane" (When people say that a film is the Citizen Kane of it's genre I now know what they are talking about, and it is as incredible as it's made out to be.

 

Have to go along with you on Citizen Cane Trumpet; strange how Wells went on record as saying that it wasn't half the film he wanted it to be..........

Still one of my favourites, couldn't say I had an all-time favourite though, too many different genres!

 

pulp fiction is always at the top as its a fantastic film
then i would go, saving private ryan, black hawk down, flight of the pheonix, the break up and so on.

 

There are so many here that I truly enjoy and to those I'd like to add, The Color Purple...:-D

 

I do this sort of thing regularly (not singing self praises like!). List your best five films or ten then in 6 months or one years time list them again! Sorry Film Nerd alert!

Great fun as they always change! OK the top two/three may stay the same but alot depends on moods, new releases or what ever! Currently top five are:

Way too many on my list to narrow down. They probably dont qualify as great movies of all time, but in my mind they are.

Christmas Vacation - my fav of all time. I just love Clark, he is my idol.
Terminator 2 - Arnold was quite bad ass, at least back then
LOTR trilogy - any of the three, i loved them all
American Pie - any of these three, loved them all
Star Wars ORIGINAL trilogy - although episode III was pretty cool
A Few Good Men - I cant handle the truth
16 candles / Weird Science / Breakfast Club - all three qualify as the same movie to me, and they are all classics
Better Off Dead - Lane Meyer is my hero. And I loved the car.
Cant Hardly Wait - Jennifer Love, oh my. And dont forget about Pres-Tone! he's like kinda tall, and wears shirts,....sometimes..
Forrest Gump - Lt. Dan, Ice Cream !

There are way many more that I consider my own personal classics and favorites. I could probably put them into a top 50 list if I were more of a geek. Hmmm?
