First you make a blatantly tasteless post that indicates both your insensitivity to the death of an innocent and the contempt your have for women.

When due umbrage is exhibited you aim to deflect the ire to an entirely unrelated issue that has nothing to do with the topic.
And now your trying to portray yourself as "wise" with some hidden message, in some vain attempt to salvage what little respect you thought you had on this forum.

But I have no doubt you respond with some obscure reference to your supposed superior knowledge or insight we don't "get" and compound it with baseless assumptions and vulgar slander.

When shootings like this happen in the US (quite often it would appear) does this strengthen the anti-gun lobby's position and if so does this strengthening only last a short while and return to the status quo until the next nutjob goes ballistic?

Is this right to carry arms a good thing? Does it reduce crime? Increase violent crime? Does it act as a deterrent?

In the UK we banned handguns and anything bigger after Dunblane in 1992(?) after some guy shot a load of children dead. This didnt stop Derek Bird going on the rampage last year and shooting dead 12 people in Cumbria.

obama came into office saying how he was going to unite the country and yet he has divided us even more. The the progressives decided this was a war and they wanted their way and no other. Do you remember when pelosi said "WE WON" and cut the Republicans out of any and all debate. It was to the point that the Republicans had to use the filibusterer to stop things, pelosi has also stated that she did not come to Washington to work with Republicans. And then you tell me to "Prove It" perhaps you should look in your own back yard as to where the hate is coming from.

As I have stated (I do not have high speed internet so finding the videos is difficult for me) Andy Stern has said we need to take names and break heads.

Just like the Black Panthers with the voter intimidation, they were convicted and Holder decided to drop that case. So there again lets divide some more.

This is such nonsense. If the country is divided, it's because the right wing decided on Day One that Obama had to be opposed in all respects, at all costs, no matter what he did or didn't do.

The fact is, he hasn't governed as a progressive at all. If he had, he would have fought for a single-payer health care system. He would have ended the war in Afghanistan. He would have closed Guantanamo and renounced rendition. He would have appointed a progressive economic team. He would have done more to regulate the banking system. None ot that happened.

The reason the country is PARTIALLY divided is because both parties refuse to compromise on many issues.

However, if the side in power gets blocked, the opponent is labeled as obstructionist, no matter which side has the majority.

We need a just war to unite us again.

President Obama's chief mistake was to push through a health plan most Americans do not like before adopting policies that reduced the unemployment rate. Nevertheless, he may recover, as Ronald Reagan recovered from the recession of 1982.

An effective leader does not only follow public opinion, he is able to shape it.

 

I would submit that his major mistake wasn't pushing through a health plan, but in pushing through one that didn't fix the problem.

 

In either case he needed to establish his credentials as someone who was in control of the economy, and who could achieve results desired by nearly everyone.
