How many American presidents have been shot? How many Canadian prime ministers?

I do not think it's an over exaggeration to observe that a politician in the US has a very good chance of being shot. For a Industrialized nation this is very uncivilized behaviour.

 

I think her husband should sue to devil out of a certain photographer.
He took a shot from the side of her laying on the gurney strapped in, her skirt up to her waist, her pantyhose and crotch fairly visible. It was in very poor taste and was on the front page of the Review Journal in Las Vegas.

 

Very good chance? Are you sure? How many US politicians have there been since say 1900. Thousands and thousands. lets say 50, 000. How many have been shot? No idea, lets say 100. That works out at....ummmmm......errrrrr......not a very good chance of being shot. 0.5% chance. And I'm sure my figures have way over estimated shootings and underestimated politicians. Just to show the fallacy of "a very good chance"

 

She definitely is a moderate, she held alot of the similar views of the tea party,,border security, military supporter with a hint of fiscal responsibility.She also held some real liberal views, she was not a screaming moon bat.

My Point: In a country that advocates the freedom of speech and Liberty, where the quote "I may not agree with what you say but I will defend unto death your right to say it" is constantly flogged about, such incidents as the actions in Arizona screams hypocrisy in the face of such laudable ideals.
I would expect such incidents in lawless countries, but surely the United States is better than that? This wasn't some out of country assassin sent to silence a politician, this was a fellow Countryman who had taken your oath of allegiance and swore loyalty before the flag.

Is it even necessary for me to point out that those are STATES, not congressional districts? How is it threatening violence to say your targeting a state to win? But when you put a congressional district in the crosshairs, you're targeting an individual.
