That's because you aren't listening. I never suggested that Palin, Beck, O'Reilly et al are legally responsible for this crime, even if the shooter was influenced by them. What I am suggesting is that they have a responsibility to the society they live in to conduct themselves in a way that doesn't promote violence. I wish they'd acknowledge that. But I'm not holding my breath.

 

To me the travesty is this. Like it or not "politics" is all we have to create and enforce a form of civilization that does not depend on brute force and violence. Should we bring violent rhetoric into that realm?

 

What would you have them do? Not disagree with their political opponent, or in the case of Beck and O'Reilly, stop airing their opinions?

Any politician or media op-ed personality can stir up feelings on both sides of the issue.

When it is proven that the politicians are responsible this act of violence, due to your interpretation, that they are responsible for this, I will be right beside you. Right now there is no evidence in what you suggest.

Do politicians need to be held at a higher standard, ABSO-FUCKING-LUTELY, Beck sent congress a letter that stated simply, 'condemn physical violence' and wanted them to sign it, only 14 have signed it so far.........Politicians are going to do whatever it takes to keep their seat..

Do you actually think disagreeing with a political opponent requires that you repeatedly invoke the prospect of gun violence? Yeah I think that's the same person. Holding a gun is not illegal, now if you had a picture of him holding something illegal, you may have a point. If you dont like guns, that's fine, but what give you the right to condemn anyone else that does like guns?

 

I'm just saying that holding a handgun tends to detract from a person's statement deploring violence. Especially since Glenn Beck has made a career out of demonizing people he doesn't agree with.

Is there a logical reason that you think Boehner should attend the 'tucson memorial'. It is not Giffords funeral memorial, (she is alive and doing very well) it's 6 American citizens.
There is no logical reason for him to be in attendance.
