  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

now I love canada and have family there but maybe you should have check your sources of evidence before putting them up here. It saves you feeling like an ass when you have incorrect material up, wether or not it was from a list made by others its your reputation that is on the line when you repost things. Also do you really care what anyone else thinks of canada, as long as you know it to be the true and great country it is, why should anyone else's opinion bother you? T x

All of those "inventions", prior to 1982, were the property of the Crown, weren't they?

Mmmm.. sensitivity.. kind of like as "sensitive" as you are when stumbler makes a political opinion that doesn't agree with you and you two go at it..

How long was that "Tea Party will destroy america" thread? How much Bandwidth was that? Were you being "sensitive" or trying to get a point across?

@tricki - Yes I suppose I could have spent hours and hours affirming every one of those inventions stated were indeed truly Canadian inventions. My mistake for forgetting the pedantic nature of this forum, one item, the Television Camera comes into dispute. Which apparently negates the validity of the other inventions.
However, given the abusive and caustic posts that appear when someone questions the United States and it's policies, I felt it only fair to refute and prove a member incorrect when they say that the only good thing to come out of Canada are two female entertainers.

@tenguy - For your education, to this day anything belonging to the public is considered "property of the crown". Attorneys for the govt are called "Crown Attorneys", Govt. Land is still called "Crown Land". Regardless of it's status the items listed, except for the Television Camera which is under debate, were still invented by Canadians.
Or perhaps you are trying to further invalidate my inferred statement that Canada has contributed greatly to the world stage.

In general, it appears to me that should some other country, other than the United States is discussed, the conversation is almost immediately derailed, said country and it's citizens are mocked, and people merrily go back to discussing the US.
As Canadians we put up with a lot of "merde" from the likes of kydave and others, to the point we are openly mocked on your news channels.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tuna2w2pgnM&feature=related

And yet it appears we, as Canadians, are not to take umbrage at such witless comments, that we are supposed to "laugh and go along with the joke".

I, and many other Canadians, are not laughing.

You haven't been paying attention, I do not post novella's or thesis.

Just as I do not take your jabs at the US to be funny.

Exactly what does that have to do with this thread? The wall of text? Excuse me if I was sparing the casual reader the effort of having to click links that may not show up in their country, it's happened before.

My "jabs at the US" are not meant in jest, they are observations from someone outside of your borders looking in. Nor have I once belittled the cultural, scientific or historical contributions the US has made. If I have please point out said post and I will apologize.
What I have done is critiqued US policies and government, which seems to be the hot topics on this forum. Sparse pickings for a discussion. If you so wish to, your welcome to critique our Governments policies, we do it all the time.

To compound my point. Again I ask you to point out where I have made "jabs at the US" akin to the ones made by kydave and others.

Now are you dissecting my comments to make a point or to simply argue?

Interesting list. I never knew the panoramic camera, washing machine, electron microscope, or any cancer blood test was invented by Canadians. Thank you for the information and most importantly, thank you for roller skates and Trivial Pursuit! :excited:

Yeah...you think you are so smart! We invented the Big Mac and more than half of the cancer causing food additives presently found in mothers breast milk! Speaking of breasts, we invented the growth hormones that are causing girls to enter puberty at eight years old! BEAT THAT HOSERS!

Celine Dion and Anne Murray?

I visit Canada several times a year and always enjoy it. While I am proud to be an American, I don’t need to put down anyone else to build us up.

That’s an impressive list of accomplishments, and I’m sure there are many more not mentioned here, but do your country a favor and remove the line about inventing instant mashed potatoes - sorry, Krieg… but that’s the kind of thing you don’t want to advertise!;)

    Thanks for the snowmobiles, though!:)

To make the point that you seem to be a overly sensitive hypocrite. You have no problem with making known your opinions regarding problems that you see in the US, some with a bend towards slander, yet you are offended by similar remarks about your own country.

Canada is a great country, it produced both of my parents, I have spent a significant portion of my childhood and adolescence there. But even then, the country was far more socialistic than the US, a large percentage of the population were publicc employees and the taxes and tariffs were very high.

Your country developed with a different set of goals than the US, yet today the country is still very dependent on trade with the US to sustain its economy. This seems to annoy some of your citizens, you included.

I would welcome a topic concerning an outsiders view of Canada regarding it's political policies and laws. Indeed, some fresh perspective regarding what is wrong with my country regarding it's foreign policies and governmental policies would be most insightful.
However, given the predominance of American interest topics, I shall not hold my breath for such a topic to appear.
No where have I said Canada is "the best country in the world", I would be the first to confirm or refute any perceived failings observed by others, without the usual über-patriotic spiel I often see when someone questions American policies.

Again I ask for you to cite where I have said "americans are a bunch of pussies" or derogatory statements of like kind.
If being "overly sensitive" is a label you wish to apply when I choose to refute such ignorant blanket statements about my country, well then I guess I'm "overly sensitive". Many a time I have seen americans make derogatory statements, openly insulting statements, about my country and have not said a word. Yet when I post a topic concerning the achievements and accolades of my country to refute the ignorant statements of others regarding my country I am labeled as "overly sensitive". So be it.

So again I ask you to validate your statement that I am being hypocritical.
Precisely where have I cast slanderous remarks regarding american bravery or it's positive contributions to the world stage?

As for our past reliance on the US for our economy, true. However, if you have been paying attention to our current ideology, we are looking to diversify with which countries we trade with. China and the EU being two very likely candidates. Our economic policies are for another topic altogether.

Now your being obtuse and pedantic. Are you saying that offering an example of a derogatory statement to make a point of reference and clarify is exactly the same as authoring such a statement?

Or more succinctly, exactly where in the post you quoted did I slander Americans?
    Please highlight implied defamation.
