I want to know How many people actually live vicariously through the internet and if so WHY???
What I mean by Vicariously is as a real person and not role playing sexual fantasies....I mean talk to some one on a personal level and tell them you are a person that you are not. You actually live out your desire of what you want to be in life. I want to know WHY you do this, WHY you would not be yourself and make a snowball of lies....how can you live with yourself knowing you have to make up lies to talk to others?

 

Not me. I chat with a lot of guys and I'm always honest about how old I am, what I look like, etc

I don't see the point. Why would I want to pretend to be someone I'm not? If someone responds to me, why would I want to try to keep a whole series of lies straight? For one thing, I'm not that smart, and for another, if I would actually develop a relationship with someone, I would never be able to meet them if I told them I was 25, built like Adonis, and hung like a Clydesdale. At least one of those things is NOT true.

Fantasy is a whole different thing. That's why I write. I don't really expect anyone to believe the shit I claim is true in some of my stories. If I were to meet a reader, they would already know I have a dirty mind. If you know what you're doing, that can be the most satisfying thing.

 

I am glad to know that I do not stand alone......I recently just experienced this and am not understanding why it was done.....why someone would lie in what was considered a friendship. anyways If there is someone out there that does this and is brave enough PLEASE by all means tell us why you do it???

I guess they do it because of some insecurities.

 

One should not try to impress people. One should try to appeal to them. You will not appeal to someone by telling the person how wonderful you are, but how wonderful the person is.

This is particularly true on an internet forum when anyone can assume any identity.

If I was who I wish I was I would not be telling people about it here. I would be living it.

I am the same fella on here as in real life. My extremely low self esteem and lack of need to impress make it so.

 

To be perfectly honest, I'm telling the truth 99% of the time here. When I don't, it's to protect my privacy. I don't get people who make up a whole other persona, just seems like far too much effort for me.

Not that I do this but most people know why this happens. It's basically insecurity and because nobody will know, they build themselves up to be more than they are.

Kind of like taking a big dildo and fucking your wife with it...

 

I live vicariously through myself. yeah, I'm that awesome.

 

I am not here to meet anyone but say just on the off chance that I did make a connection with a girl here it would be a shame if I had lied about myself and made a meeting impossible.

I don't think the problem is yours, I have said on here before that a man pretending to be a woman here is the most pathetic thing to do.

You do have to remember that the world is full of losers and liars and the internet has provided a place for these basement dwellers and nerds to interact with normal people that would surely shun them in real life.
Just be more selective in future, but remember where you are.

I feel I need to speak up and out at your comment to me for I felt some hint of "what a push over she is" thing going on there.....what I meant about being burned was.....life in general.....I am not that old but have seen and experienced more than I care to know and have enough of it to last a hundred lifetimes...in every aspect of my life someone has given me a not so good life lesson and although I am grateful for this, for it has made me who I am and I love Me...lol....I also feel "Why Me", "Why do I get all this special treatment"??? why can I not just be normal and not special....but the grass is always going to appear greener on the other side......RRRight....lol....anyways I am going to stop typing now before I give a life long story in detail here....lol....

 

Not sure how I could make up all the stuff I say....someone can believe me or not. I find it easier to omit than to lie...

My question is that what makes you think that someone that has come here to try and be something they are not would then after putting that work into being something else would admit it and tell you why they do.

Hell that Carrie_J girlie said she was not her but I can't remember why she was someone else....

Then there are those that just don't get reality and they really think they are who they aren't.
