See, your approach didn't have quite the right timing...maybe a little too abrupt. I would have done it more like this.

i once worked part time as a security guard at a garbage dump lol

 

pinsetter in a 10pin bowling alley, actually worked in 5 of them, was able to do two alleys at once, and one night when there werent any more "pinboys" we were called, I did three alleys for about an hour. That was a trip because you had to climb over the barriers between alley pairs. I was 14 to 16 yrs old then. And we used to be paid at the beginning 5cents a line.

The job is now obsolete machines to it now.

Then from 10 to 14 I delivered papers on a bicycle.

Now I babysit 15 slot machines.

 

Not that I didn't love this job but I had a job that was titled "Gardener" around the Village Store in Yosemite Park one summer when I was young. There was no gardening allowed as it was kept natural.

 

Refusing to do that sort of thing would have had me imprisoned or thrown out the army. Refusing to take part in authoritative structures or power plays has landed me in strive more than once.

Floor Mats
Sometimes a bad run of floor mats could decay in storage. I had to ensure that no moisture seeped or condensed into the stacks and settled in the lower basins of the mats. $26 per hour for something a simple dessicant could take care of.

Bibles
It wasnt all bibles. It was faith-based books, gifts, and prayer paraphernalia. They had their products in two associated retail stores, profit bins in numerous ethnic friendly supermakets, and all kinds of volumes in temples and schools. Would have been more interesting if the books weren't all faith based. It's not like religious people cant read in other areas of interest. I drove the truck, moved the books and products around, set up and took down the bins at stores and trade shows, and at the end of the day, swept and mopped the floors. The worst wages I ever earned as an adult, yet because they were faithed-based they qualified for all kinds of government subsidies, so even though they were privately ownee, they weren't even dipping into their profits to pay my meager wages.
