Though I hesitate to point this out due to flaming...it comes to my attention often enough that xnxx is not an american site, it is also a site accessable from anywhere in the world.

Point of reference...pedophilla is a social idea as well as a law and internationally the lowest age of sexual consent is (correct me if I'm wrong) 9 years old and in that country (japan I believe) where you can access this site, sex with a 9 year old is NOT pedophilla.

final note...What I believe is acceptable, dear bashers, is beside the point. you cannot hold a view that does not include all the spectrum and claim a moral superiority.

If you don't like it, don't read it. IF I ever wrote a story about a 9 yo and had it reported I would argue this exact case with the admins.

I have read posts from other writers who have requested their stories be removed. Of those that have posted, I think there is 1 or 2 that actually stated their stuff had been taken down. I requested that parts of some of my series be removed for publication reasons (has nothing to do with the new rule), but to date they are still up. I made the request a little over a week ago, but I figure with the new rule being in place that the owners are swamped with reports, requests, and the general updating and purging of the system. I plan to give them a few more days and then I will send another request.

 

Perhaps it would have been better if a couple of weeks had been left free so authors could request deletion before anyone was able to report stories. After all one message from an author with 30 stories is easier to deal with than 30 reports where the quotes submitted still have to be checked for authenticity.

 

If all the authors were as honorable as you William and did just that instead of panicked displaced concern over how the mods/admin will adjust to the rule change, it would be beneficial to the mods/admin they are so concerned for.

 

Yes, I believe that allowing authors to request deletion before the initial purge would have greatly reduced their workload. However, I do not know if they have actually began the purge, if they intend to purge the system themselves or if they are just going to rely on the readers to tell them which stories they find offensive, etc. So far it -appears- that none of the tags have been removed. I cannot say if any of the stories have actually been removed from the story side or not. All in all, neither the members nor the mods seem to know anything more today than they did when the announcement was first made. IMO, everyone is doing the best they can with what information we have been given. Some authors are chosing to delete all their stories regardless of content, others are taking a 'wait and see' stance until more official rules with greater details has been given. As the authors still own the copyrights to their works, it is their priority as the owners of those copyrights to either leave their stories or remove them as they see fit, so long as those stories exist within the limited rules of the site.

 

Yeah, I've only had one story deleted so far, but we'll see.

What I find disgusting about the whole idea is, knowing that no authors are going to denounce fellow writers, the reports are going to come from unregistered 'anonymous' readers. It will turn into a witch hunt worthy of Nazi Germany. That's the reason I would urge authors to remove their stories while they can rather than wake up one morning and find out that their 100%, 50,000 read tale has disappeared. You can write all you want on the forum but the owners and admin are not reading what you post and the inevitable is going to happen no matter what. At least don't give them the satisfaction of deciding that your story has to go.

 

Oh, honey, do you -honestly- think that the authors on this site will not use that report button as a revenge weapons? They are already using the voting system to sabotage each other's work, now they can hit the 'report' button too and help rid themselves of their competition that way. Of course, they may or may not have sense enough to log out first.

This is a public service announcement to the repeat visitors of my thread called Beauty.

I do not hold out much hope that the message will be seen by many, but so be it.

The story thread is gone....

NOT because I have been banned;
NOT because I have been reported;
NOT because I do not want to post anymore!

The thread is gone at my request, because recent changes to the forum have corrupted the formatting of the content and made large parts of it unreadable.

I will replace it all! I promise!!!!! The replacement of the content will take time. Please, please, please bear with me. It is a ton of work but I promise to do it, starting tonight!

Most of all, all of the reader comments, critiques, and encouragement have been deleted, too. That is a shame, yet necessary, in order to fix the content. So please, when I start cranking on the reposting, do write to let me know that the work matters.

My complaint about my story's was based on censorship issues not content.
I do not write pedo based stories however i do write about younger characters.
I also have now been notified that i have 2 days to back up before removal of certain chapters of certain stories.
So yes i am being deleted.
I wont be submitting anymore.

A firm decision as not been made in the definition of underaged. A developper is working on a new system of reports, but before it's finished, we are going to track all of the reports. The member filing the report should include:

Title of the story
URL of the story
URL of the user profile
Some relevant citations - specific instances noted from the story itself.

When more information comes this way, we will notify you and begin the deleting process. Please, if you think your work is in jeopardy, back up you stories now.
