I didn't come here for the stories. I came here because I Googled "adult forum" and this one was the first one that showed up.

 

I came for the stories....I stayed for the conversation.....though lately it seems that too has been lacking.

 

This is too bad! I have enjoyed a few of these stories.The cowards and leslie two cell psychologists win! They are fiction. This I cannot see but a failure to the fear mongers and shrieking sheilas here. They harrumph and voice their disapproval, smacks of the pandering given to that social scourge, the p.c feminist, no more disgusting a miscreant can be found.

Look, I understand if they have to remove the kiddie stuff. Let's be honest. Technically it is illegal even though most of us are turned on by it. But if they start removing other Genres then it is over. Then I am leaving too. cause that would be the start of it becoming not so free story site

 

My two cents worth.

First of all, yes, I know what I'm going to say isn't even worth two cents, but,...

In several of the million posts that have been made since Nophest's announcement, people have said they believed the decision was made for legal reasons, or for fear of the ever-tightening "decency" laws in some areas. I tend to agree.

The idea that a few ridiculously vocal forum members can cause a BUSINESS to change it's policies seems unlikely. Just because YOU believe something should be a certain way doesn't mean that YOUR wishes will be honored by the BUSINESS owner, if he feels such changes will upset of a large number of customers.

This is not a matter of one's freedom of speech being violated. In no society do we really have freedom of speech or the written word. Don't believe it? Mail death threats to your country's leaders and then stand on a busy street corner with a megaphone bragging about it. Your freedom of speech will be completely dependent on the length of time it takes the police to come for you.

The same thing will happen in a private business establishment. Try saying the wrong thing to the wrong person in a bar or yelling "Fire!" in a crowded theater, if you don't believe it. Businesses, which this website is, have rules, standard of conduct, and they have the right to enforce them.

But there is a troubling question here. What will the next rule change be?

Since when did the written word (no matter the subject ) become illegal?
If stories of underaged sex stories are now illegal how about rape, murder, torture etc etc? When has this new law been passed and in which countries?

It doesn't matter to me either way on here as i've never looked in the stories section or read anything. I'm just puzzled over people saying that there has been a sudden change in the laws.

If that were the case then hundreds, possibly thousands, of books would have to be removed from circulation.

How would this affect books like the ones by Anais Nin? Which are are available to download from legal Ebooks sites for everyone?

 

Not to mention Nabakov's Lolita, an acknowledged classic. It's not just whether or not the story involves an underaged person having sex. How explicit does the description of sex need to be? Will McCuller's The Heart is a Lonely Hunter be the next book to be burned?

I fully defend Nophest's ability to set the rules for his own website, and to change them as he see's fit. I just think it's unfortunate that he's making this change, because I think it's unnecessary and ill-defined. I hope it's not part of a larger trend toward self-censorship of the internet.

And no, they can't censor the entire net...just a little corner of it. But I'd hate to have to go in search of another repository for the things I've written, and the things other people have written. Such venues -- the ones that are free of censorship, that is -- are scarce. I don't like to see the places I value on the net being chipped away at.

Again, not leaving, just not posting any more stories. I came here because I had stories of my own childhood to tell, because the site disclaimer was, as others have shown, no censorship. I did not bring my stories here to be edited or censored in any fashion. Now, though, they have decided, well, this particular genre has to go, because - who knows? - some so called moral majority is putting pressure on them? What genre is next - bondage and discipline, dom/sub, gay, lesbian, groups? Then once only straight man-on-top missionary position sex is allowed to be posted here, will they decide sex between unmarried couples is wrong, or sex for purposes other than conception - where does it stop? They can censor 'em, they can delete 'em, they can do whatever they want with what I've already posted, but they won't get any more stories from me on this site. The pussies don't deserve 'em, not that they ever gave a fuck about the writers anyway.

 

Don't ever change. Our opinions may be different but I admire your determination and the that fact that you fight hard for what you believe in. You're also very intelligent and you write well.

In this world women need to fight for many things. Women like you make me believe that we just might become equal someday.
