Wikipedia says 1 in 6 women have been victims of rape or attempted rape and 1 in 6 to 1 in 4 were sexually abused as children. Men are the abusers over 90% of the time. Then there's just regular child neglect and abuse. Although women are the primary caregivers most of the time, men are more than twice as likely to abuse or neglect children in their care. Then, as you mention DL, there are the men that abandon pregnant women.

Then you can add in men that physically or emotionally abuse women and the ones that are just jerks.

My personal history - I was molested by a teenaged neighbor when I was little and I witnessed a friend get molested by her brother. There have been 2 men that exposed themselves to me and I grew up with an emotionally distant father. I have one brother who is a born again asshole and another brother who's an atheist and the coolest man on the planet. I've never been physically abused by a man but I have been threatened. My last boyfriend in college gave me herpes.

That being said, I've had lots of male friends and a fair share of lovers who were all nice guys (except one). I love men. Sometimes I don't understand them. Sometimes they make me crazy. But I'm not switching teams anytime soon.

Some women say that they hate men because of the fact they've had so many men cheat, lie, beat, molest, and/or steal from/on/to them. Yes, alot of women do this, but women are more sensitive and acceptable to all of these things and more. I guess you can say that women will have these things burned into their brains if it has more way more than once and even more if it's by many or even the same person. Even if you are completely honest, loving, caring, and never lay a finger on a woman in hurt or anger there will be some part of them that just cant trust you, sometimes, you just cant help it at all.

but a lot of what you say is true, are men jerk? sure, just like women
can be bitches. then again, many women claim to like assholes.
then complain when it bites them in the ass.
i think a large part of the understanding is women need to see that
men are more sexual beings and this make many men crazy.
instead of women claiming that women are just as sexual as men
and have their same sexual habits and desires right down the line.
some men are deranged about it, yet they hide it well. then women
don't believe men can be because they are not this way them self,
and women are generally very easy to believe men i notice.

 

i agree. women need to take things more in stride. it may not
be in their nature to be on the pessimist side by some caretaker kind
of nature, but they should be more cautious.
i notice women are very trusting with men usually, if i seem
suspicious of them and say something then they will be like
"oh you're just paranoid, not everyone is like that" or the classic
"he's a nice person, he's so sweet" when i see something that is
very suspicious about a guy they know and i'm like "of course he is,
around YOU" or women will say "why would he be like that?"
because they/women are not like some dudes that are sleaze bags.
i still see women who get tricked into sex and used and they
actually wonder why he has not called and vanished "but he was so
nice and we really connected".

 

I think anyone that claims they hate one of the genders of the human race has some mental issues to deal with. Afte all, that's approximately half of the population in the world that they hate, or about 3 billion people. That's a lot of hate! It's completely unrealistic to hate 3 billion people that you have never met.

Women are strange... what can you do?
I know alot of women that simply don't find men attractive... they aren't lesbian and they love their male partner... they just don't find men attractive, infact they think they are ugly...

Sure some guys are assholes... but alot are not. Some women just throw that blanket over every guy and so they sabotage their own relationships so that they are the ones to end it.

The Rape Card

It's pretty low to play the rape card. I also think those number are inaccurate. There couldn't possibly be that many rapists. This is left wing feminist propaganda. They teach this crap in high schools and on college campuses. They use it to poison the minds of young ladies and create a new generation of man hating lesbians. Why? I have no idea. Maybe these women are jealous of what men have accomplished in our society. Maybe they want to destroy the male power structure. Or maybe they are just bitter. Whatever the case, it's bad for society.

Men are still needed. Without men, our society would fall apart. Who do you call when you need something built? Who do you call during a time of war? Who do you call when your home is on fire? Who do you call when you are being assaulted? Who maintains the peace and keeps us all safe and secure? Men, that's who.

If you have been hurt by men, I'm sorry to hear that. A real man would never hurt a woman. God will punish those evil men. Yes, God is also a man.

There is still a good number who either do not report out of fear or shame and other who after tons of badgering say they made it up just so they don't have to endure it. When I revealed I was raped, it was 3 years after the fact. The social workers kept badgering and badgering, wanting me to take the guy to court. I didn't want that, I didn't even mean to let it slip. It had came out in a conversation with a teacher about an article I read. I told the social workers if they kept pushing, I was just going to say I made it up... I didn't want to deal with it any more and justice in my eyes had been served. If it went to court, there would have been more trouble because it would get others in trouble for assault.

The term 'rape' has a different and modern connotation these days than it did when I was younger.

In the past, a husband couldn't rape his wife. Now, wives have rights!! And yes, they can be raped if the husband forces himself on her and has sex with her against her will.

Then, there's also 'date rape'. This is another newbie. Nowadays, it is recognised that women who go on dates don't always want to have sex with the person they're dating.

A rapist these days isn't just some dirty, raincoated guy who hangs around dark alleys waiting to grab a passing, unsuspecting female to bone her against her will. They can be suave, sophisticated, anyone from businessman to vagrant; politician to policeman.

Therefore, yes, the stats for victims of rape will be high. Even higher than in our parents day, before women were regarded as human beings in their own right, with a right to refuse sex from a horny spouse/partner.

And that's not including the number of rapes in third world countries, where it is used as a weapon of war. Nor in countries where being a female homosexual may 'earn' you a 'corrective rape' :neutral:

Seriously. "Plenty of men are abused by women?" PLENTY? I wonder why there are no battered shelter programs for them. Actually, it would be interesting to pull actual stats from police reports on these. Wonder what we would find?
