Exactly how did you find all this out, because if I recall, not only are you an almost 40 year old virgin, you've never even been on a date? I went back and read your "hopeless cause" post. You said that people like you at your job, but do you have any real friends? Do you have buddies that you can go out and have a beer with? i can see a few reasons. of course i'm not you, but here are some guesses that i might make.

• asking for guidance on how to effectively approach woman
• asking for people to help you aleviate the pain associated with a failed relationship
• looking to just get whatever discussion going that you can because you're lonely and just want someone to converse with
• feeling very frustrated because you're afraid of rejection even though it may not have happened
• feeling frustrated that you cannot get yourself to ask a women out
