I think the manager did as much as he could to help. As for the other employees, I think that most major corporations have rules / protocol / instruction to keep yourself out of harms way.

When I worked at a theme park, a 15 year old girl approached me, complaining that a transvestite was allowed to dress in the female locker room. As a religious 15 year old, she was offended at seeing an adult male penis in what is supposed to be a female only zone (the transvestite was a pre op transgender-had boobs and a dick). I went to see the human resources manager. I explained the situation to the manager.

HR Manager:"They feel more comfortable dressing in a female area."

Me:"I have five sisters. I feel more comfortable dressing in a female area."

HR Manager:"That's not important. It's where they feel most comfortable. We value all employees."

Me: "Have you considered giving them their own area ? You know there's room in that building for that kind of contingency ?" (it was a very large building).

HR Manager:"We don't want to alienate them. Besides, it's none of your business. This conversation is over."

At what point does a man become "transgendered" and not a man wearing womans clothes ?

 

A person is born transgendered but once they start liing full time and on a hormone regiment it is pretty much considered a transwoman socially. For safety reason if they aren't passable yet I recommend if at all possible not going to the washroom at all. If a trans woman is passable it is safer going to a woman's washroom plus it is much more comfortable for the trans person as well.

 

This is why many newer buildings now have a third room for "family"

I don't have a dog in this fight, but my reaction would be to hunt down and kill every relative of those who were involved in such a killing--aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, wives, children, and no exceptions for age. If the perps were Muslim, I would cover the bodies of their dead relatives with pig excrement--and make sure the perps knew all about what happened to their loved ones. Letting the perps watch the carnage on video would be a nice touch.

I don't know how the English would handle it, but that is the way I would handle the matter.
