I know most men love the idea of multiple women taking care of them. But I was curious how many women on here would actually be open to the idea of being a wife to a man with other wives. Could the traditional idea of polygamy be an acceptable lifestyle for you.

If so...what would be the limitations you would have to place on the relationship?

I would be fine IF I was part of the choosing and the loving. If my husband was the only one getting pleasure out of this, then sorry wife numero dos, you gotta go. If she gets more attention than me, there is a problem. I am in an open relationship, I have 2 men and the love is equal on all parts.

 

I opened this thinking someone was finally going to ask how many women would enjoy having more than one husband.. Why is it always one man, several women? Why doesn't it ever trend the other way? That's what I'd really like to know. How many women out there would consider keeping two or three husbands if it weren't illegal?

 

I would. I've run up to 4 BF's at once, they knew about eachother, and even met on occasion. There was no threesums or anything else though.
The rule used to be, to be with me, you HAD to share me. I was very up front about it, and never lied. It took me years to find men that were ok with that, and sometimes I miss them, but don't tell my husband that.
Just one man, cannot, never has, never will satisfy me.

 

I have the feeling there are probably quite a few polyamory couples where the men outnumber the women these days. It just seems that since, until very recently, most cultures/religions were strongly dominated by males that's more prevalent.

 

I think it's a left over from the caveman days.
Men had a much short lifespan then women, and rather then waste thier child bearing years, they'd marry the same man.

Honestly, in some ways I can see how and why it would be nice to have a another wife.
You'd always have someone to gossip with, could share chores, if one of you was sick the others would take over.
But in practice I could see it failing. Very rarely do more then 2 women get along or share anything.

I wouldnt mind, but then again Im bi so she would also have to be. She would have to help around the house, no trophy girl type bs. and most importantly...Id have to also be able to have either boyfriends or another "husband". as far as how many wives, it doesnt matter to me.

I was in a situation that was pretty close to a polyandry triad for a while. I don't know now if the others ever understood it that way, but eventually a friend of mine explained it that way as a joke and ever since I've felt that we were a triad. Officially, though, at least the way we talked about it, she was switching back and forth between us two guys. He and I had a lot in common and no real jealousy -- it was just sort of the flavor of the week for her (although it could go months without a "switch", too). Eventually she and I had a falling out over what in retrospect were unresolved issues of this switching and I left her to him -- or maybe she thinks she dumped me for him. They have been together ever since and we haven't spoken in years.

 

A man with many wives could impregnate them all simultaneously, whereas a woman with many husbands could only carry one child at a time, while sex and pleasure do play a part in it, it's not the only issue

I love the idea of more than one wife if the wives in question were also happy about it. That said I'm a man so I'd collect women like Pokemon if i could lets be honest.

I have friends from various religions where more than one wife is traditional but not now practiced because of changed social views and UK law. I find it difficult to imagine jealousy not being a recurring problem though.

 

Speaking of, why is it law? I never really understood that.
Me and my best friend used to share men all the time, we never got jealous, I could fully see us sharing a husband, or as in my above post, I had four BF's at the same time.
It CAN be done.
So why does law restrict us and say "You can only love one person?"
I know myself, I could love more then one, as long as they made sure to not try to fight over my love, it could be done.
Is it just because of christianity?
Why should religion affect laws?

 

I am only interested in being with one woman that want's to be with me as much as I want to be with her. Devoting myself to her as she devotes herself to me feels so hot.

 

I love my life, where I have a wonderful husband and his brother living under one roof. It fulfills all of our individual and group needs.

I believe in polygamy if its me and 4 husbands. Other wise you can go fuck yourself. Its different when you and your husband consent to a swinging relationship with each other, but I do not do well with sharing emotions and having to share the love of my husband.

Was pretty shocked to see the range of answers so far on this. I guess the age of polygamy has turned to the age of polyandry. Women have decided that they want the more dominant role in the relationships from the sound of it. Interesting.

From a man's view point. We tend to be less group oriented except for in the area of sports...and even then it is a competition. The idea of sharing a woman has never appealed to me. Though I'm sure that's cause i'm a man. I can see why women might not want to share with other women as well.

 

That's just it, women compete too; it's just much more subtle. They can say with a look what men have a drag out fight about.
