  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Although they arent realy cars I realy love these and wanted to share them simply because...well...I love them.

There was a day when grace and style, form and beauty took first place over such mundane things as engineering and function. Those were the days of truly beautiful vehichles of all kinds...

And yes... the band REO Speedwagon did in fact get thier name from a truck. The strange looking spaceship truck toward the bottom with REO on the grill is an REO speed tanker. :)

Both the cars were from the first Mad Max movie, the second one is a 1974 Ford Falcon Interceptor 351 V8

This is the modern Highway Patrol in Oz.....well in Victoria.

In it's full police dress it does 0-60 mph in a touch under 6 secs, 18inc boots, not many cars get away from these buggers.....and I haven't tried.

I know I stated my first car was a Golf GTi but I forgot that me and a friend actually bought one of these for a tenner back in the seventies, we had it for three days before we got pulled by the bill, my buddy was driving, unfortunately his licence was suspended, we had no insurance, MOT certificate or proof of ownership and he was drunk, at least the breakfast in the cells was good.

my first 'car' was a 20-year old dodge pickup. It was mostly green, neither the air conditioning nor heater worked, the only thing that worked reliably was the oil pressure gauge, and it was scary going faster than 40mph with sloppy steering and frequent breakdowns. Oh yeah, it got a whopping 4mpg. Yes, four whole miles per gallon, but gas was well under $1/gallon so it didnt really matter like it would today.

...and I was thrilled to have it.

    first car

1956 Pontiac Supercheif, with the lighhted hood ornament. 316 engine rebored to 344, high rise lifters, 750 cf 4 bbl open throat Holly carb. Four speed auto trans, with super drive. Burn rubber at 60 mph.

Two-tone black and white paint, All new black vinyl interior, with blue lighting. It had a back seat that seemed bigger than a sofa. My dad was an Electrical Engineer, so he helped install Am/Fm radio, with a 75 watt amp (big for the time) and a WHOLE bunch of speakers

The damned thing leaned whenever you drove past a gas station, but fortunately gas cost
    33 cents a gallon.

A dream car for an 18 year old, and it only cost me $200.00 before upgrades.

1942 Buick Special 4 door. Replaced the passenger door so it was black, rest of the car was faded blue. Put sunshield on it over the windshield. Tore out the original center dash and replaced it with my own aluminum with switches and lights in it. Paid $95.00 for it. Gas was 21.9 to 25.9 cents a gallon. Had 133000 on it when I bought it.

Traded it at 110,000 a few years later for my 1951 Buick 4door Riviera. Rebuilt the engine on that myself. It had 55000 on it and I drove it to 102000 when the rod bearings on a cylinder went out. Had it repaired and less than 20 miles it did it again. So I sold it to the garage for $75 and we took the bus home from New Mexico. I had it painted shortly after I bought it, dark forest green with off white area below the side chrome strips.

Wow , talk about classic cars Empress , the old 42 with the straight eight went like a rocket for them days. Well over 150 hp which was huge back then for a "family car".

Both collector cars that are worth a ton of money now .
