  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Any place on this planet where thinking is equal to acting is a place that deserves to be burnt to the ground. :-| The two are so far from eachother morally, it's hardly worth mentioning . . . go ahead and think it up to your heart's delight - it's the only thing you have total control over

If thinking and discussing something morally questionable or even criminal is itself a crime, then most writers should be immediatly arrested.

    Myself included.

This is about self preservation and self control... The whole suicide thing, its happy you can roll it around in your hands... but really? if your going to off yourself you have to choose the right way to do it, what kind of message are you going to send... the whole I'm sorry crap... or the I hate myself crap... or Fuck me and fuck you too... Contemplation of suicide despite what psychologists say is perfectly normal. But its reasons for how and why not that keep you from getting around to it or that last minute phone call to the ambulance. I for many years contemplated writing a book entitled Suicide doing it right the first time, the trouble was it ended up being a terrible philosophical piece of trash that I couldn't make any sort of progress.

It leads up to the whole thought police thing, if I got arrested for everything that I thought about I'd be serving oh I don't know something stupid like 197 consecutive life sentences. The stupidity of being punished for thinking, well there went all of literature...

My answer to this is...You can think what you want without consequence.

If people and/or the law decided to punish people for what they thought about doing as opposed to actually doing it, there would be riots and a "Freedom Of Thought Movement" to fight it.

To those who may disagree with me on this: What if you had a stray thought? Something you cannot possibly control at all times. Is it right for you to be punished for something you cannot control?

But then where would it end? First thought control, then mind control, then the way you walk, talk... need I go on?

Point:punishing people for thinking something should never exist because it's wrong to make people think the way you want them to.

    Action however...totally different.

I don't mean to shove religion into this, but this issue has been discussed in a couple of religions. One of them say that if you think about doing something wrong but you don't go through with it, God doesn't count that as a mistake or a fault. And if you think about doing something right, like giving money to the poor, help building a hospital, yada yada yada; he gives you credit for just thinking about it.

So, even though I'm not religious, I agree on that. If you think about killing the person you hate most but you don't do it, it's no big deal; you're just letting out the anger you have in imagination and thought instead of in reality and action. Same with cheating and faithfulness if you all have your minds on that matter, specifically. If you think about cheating on your man or woman because you're bored but never really do it, you shouldn't be punished because you respect them enough not to do it no matter how badly you want to.

Honestly, if everyone is to be punished for thinking about doing a bad thing, there wouldn't be a single person walking the street, we'd all be in jail.

If you voice your intent or even thoughts of committing a crime to another person and they report you to the authorities, it's their word against yours and likely to go nowhere other than an embarrassing conversation with the cops and a record of the event stored away somewhere.. If that conversation with your friend was recorded, your fucked. It's called conspiracy to commit.
I have a close friend who happens to be another writer and caries a voice activated digital recorder that he turns off and on whenever he has an idea or even some conversations. He's obsessive with this damn thing and being aware of it, I'm extremely guarded when talking with him. I've also started using one but not at his extremes.
In this day of technology, conversations can be recorded anywhere and from quite a distance. Emails or electronic communications of any kind can get you prison time.
If I had ever been held to account for many of my evil thoughts, I would have been at the minimum been declared a dangerous offender and sentenced to multiple life sentences. It's one of the pitfalls of being a writer. But then I would also use it as my defense as well suggesting it was simply an outline or draft for a possible publication. Do you think they'd buy it? LOL
An active imagination is just that, imagination unless it's seen through to fruition in which case you take your chances.
Caution when communicating with others would be prudent.

our thoughts are capable of taking anyone down a dark path. Our subconscious can be cruel at times. But that is the point, they are thoughts not deeds.

If it was illegal to think bad things, everybody would spend at least some time in prison.
