  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    Hey everyone
Basically as some of you will know, I have got a series going and at the moment I am suffering from a kind of writer's block. I have a detailed plan of what I am going to write throughout the series and have already written a sizeable chunk of the next story. However, I am struggling to finish it and am really struggling on writing down what I'm thinking in my head, especially at the sex scenes bit.
I was just wondering if anybody else has had similar expierences and what they do/have done to conquer this.

    Good question.

Lately, I seem to have several stories going at once, so when I hit a wall on one, I try to write on another.

Sometimes, writing doesn't come easily, and it's tough (and often counter-productive) to force it, so when I'm really stumped, I just walk away.

Writers' block shouldn't really be a problem if you don't have a contract and an editor hounding you for pages. If you're an amateur, like most of us, the last thing you want to do is stress about it.

Take a break, go for a walk, have a drink or seven, try to get laid, watch some vids or a football game, take a nap -- anything beats sitting at that keyboard getting more frustrated!

Type your initials wherever you are stuck.

    Then continue.

Repeat as often as necessary. Don't stop.

When you reach the end, find your initials and fill to suit. You will find that bridging Point A and Point C is trivially easy, as compared to the original challenge of casting words out into an empty gulf.

I used to get writer's block. Not anymore. With this trick up my sleeve, I can produce 50,000 words per week when I'm on a roll.

Go out, get wasted, get laid, wake up next day not remembering what you done last night and wondering how you ended up sleeping naked on a bench in a park. Works every time.

    That's a GREAT idea, Clarise!

I've started writing myself little notes about things I want to include, putting them in boldface a few line-spaces below where I'm writing, but I never made the leap to do what you suggested.

lad91, sometimes it pays to listen to the pros. Or you could try what splattie suggested. :excited:

thanks for the tips guys, at the moment its just a little frustrating. I'll get myself in writing mode, re-read what I've already written, write a line then just get stumped. I think I might skip ahead and write a few of the later stories then come back to it :)

Whenever I am writing any sort of story or paper what helps me is to just do something else and not think about the story at all. The hard part is to not try do it though if that makes any sense. To quote Yoda," Do or do not, there is no try."

It helps to read other people's stories to get over writers block. Don't read it for the content, but more for what you could improve upon in their story. How would you like their story to end? Would A and B grow distant or nearer by the end of their story? Then apply those situations to your story.

Also, I've found that reading books outside of writing helps you to desire it more. I'm currently reading a book called "How Proust Can Change Your Life" by Alain De Botton. When I saw the book, the name Proust jumped out at me since he is a poet and I figured it would be interesting. And it is. It mentions how Proust (the poet) was bedridden and had all these ailments while his brother was a worldly man, muscular, variably intelligent but missed the little things in life. Proust (again, the poet) notices every little thing and has a peculiar diet. Things weigh on his stomach and he eats sparsely, especially before bed.

    Ahhh writers block...
1st method... sit down and listen to some music that you can jam to... something that will get your juices going... and write...
2nd Method... Play freecell till you win two games in a row... then start writing... (crazy I know but it works for me...)
And now your asking yourself what the hell does CJ know about writing... I mean he's in the middle of 14 serials right now he has no clue what writers block is all about... Took me a frickin year to finish Plane crash and I didn't do it all that well... My shorts I did in one sitting or two... the rest are in progress... Just start writing... doesn't have to be about that story... maybe you just hammer some crap out and its pointless but you'll start thinking linearly... and you'll be able to hammer on your story.

The thing to remember is that writer's block is instinctive. You will have it because instinctively you don't like the way your story is going.

Take a step back and have a good hard look at it. Is the plot consistent with your characters personalities? Is it just too "out there" to be believable? Is the story flagging - spending too much time on detail and description.

You mention the sex scenes and we can sometimes rush the plot into those without justifying them being in the plot sufficiently.

Sometimes just a minor tweak of your main character or a change to the plot can make the whole thing make much more sense and be way more readable.

I don't know what to tell you. I have been dealing with writer's block my whole life. What works for me though is I pretend that I am telling the story to a friend as if it really happened. Some how the story just flows. Record it as I tell it then it's just the time to type it.
