They had their chance in spotlight already...this game has two teams suddenly on top after no playoffs for couple years, we want something new and exciting and this game promises that. But then again I might be biased and people want a flashy game and stuff. All I know is, pats and jets weren't the same dominant teams as before, niners and giants have improved and has the makings of a tough gritty game

 

I think...I remember reading an article bout SNF staying same, one game went from morning game to afternoon game or something...don't remember and then again I could be wrong

One other point though; a divisional game carries an extra edge, so that might have swayed them into sticking with Pats-Jets.

Yeah, I couldn't really argue against it. If it was a choice between the two I'd rate it as pretty much a toss-up.

 

They picked the Jets/Pats for a reason.

No. The Giants and 49ers haven't suddenly changed. There's nothing all that new about either of them. The Jets and the Pats are two tough, gritty teams who can also air it out at times. It's Rex Ryan's defense vs. Bill Belichick's offense. It's Revis vs. Brady. You need to stop having such a ridiculous hometown bias.

Regardless of either team's record, it's a game that WILL draw high ratings every time, especially on a national stage.

No, it isn't. They're still the same teams they have been for years now. Their record doesn't mean they changed. It means they either played better than season's past or had an easier schedule or really just a whole host of possible things.

It's not even remotely as good a TV matchup as Jets/Pats.

They haven't though. I've been watching them (or at least paying attention to them) just like I have every team for the past however many years. The Giants have been the same for years now and the Niners have simply improved their play but the way they play is exactly the same. There's more to football than records and the fact is that the Niners haven't been as bad as their record indicates or at the very least have been building towards being this type of team for a few years now. There's no surprises between these two teams.

It's the same deal with the Jets and Pats except the Jets and Pats have been two of the toughest teams in the league for the past few years now.

 

As for taking things personal, you seemed offended by my opinion and decided to repeat one fact I have said. There's nothing you can say that will sway my opinion. We not getting the respect we deserve that's fine with us, we only want the W's. Niners are good this year, hopefully good enough to reach nfc conference games and/or superbowl in next couple years. Say, what happened to your Dream Team?
