  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

The Texans do not need Matt Schaub to win, he helps a lot, but the team is not just him. And just so you know, Matt Schaub is not the only Pro Bowlers on the team. If you want to talk about Pro Bowlers on the Texans here are some names for you other than Matt Schaub: Andre Johnson, DeMeco Ryans, Owen Daniels, Brian Cushing, Arian Foster, and Marion Williams who is injured.

Now everyone forgets that Matt Leinart is a quarterback who has plenty of titles under his belt. Just remember all of the awards that he has: 2 time Archie Griffin Award (which Andrew Luck has won recently), Heisman Trophy, Manning Award, Johnny Unitas Award, 2 time NCAA QB of the Year, and Walter Camp Award.

A lot of people forget that when Matt Leinart played with the Arizona Cardinals, the Cardinals did not have the talent the Houston Texans have this year. So there is no doubt that the Houston Texans will go on to play in the playoffs this year while having Leinart at the quarterback; because the rest of the team will be there to assist him in any way needed.

College is different from football. (If that's wrong forgive me) the way I see it is...yes its a team effort but generally a quarterback can lose them the game. Im a niners fan so I keep an eye on the cards since in same division...for the few times matt played for them he had little success, was cut for a reason. Frankly im rather curious how it plays out for rest of season for Texans with matt at the reins. Just thought ill throw in my 2 cents, whether its worthless or not

You're not getting what I'm saying.

Certain teams can get by without a QB on Schaub's level. Teams like the Giants, the Ravens in 2000, the Bucs in 2002, etc. The Texans aren't one of them. You have to have everything be able to stand on its own and the Texans don't have that. Everything gets affected when a QB of that caliber goes down, all the way to the defense. It's not about rankings. Do the Texans honestly have 2 true shutdown corners and a stifling secondary? Because they'll need it with Schaub out.

That made me think of a new nickname for Lienart. "The other Matt"

Ever wonder what football looks like to a "math geek" and how to break down a team such as the Packers?????

As with most teams, the Packers exhibit a tendency towards the run as their WP increases. The following table illustrates this. (Note: the Packers only reached the 0.11 WP mark twice in Weeks One through Eight -- both running plays against the Falcons).

Here's that information in graph form (minus the two data points from 0.11 WP, which were effing with the best-fit line):

(Before we continue, one note on the Green Bay numbers: they represent "intended plays," which includes plays nullified by penalty. So, for example, a pass interference call doesn't go down officially as a pass play, even if it certainly was a pass-play call. That might alter the ratios a little bit.)

From these Green Bay numbers, we see that, in the middle ranges of WP -- from 0.41 to 0.61 -- the Packers are calling passes about 70% of the time. That's about 10-15% more often than league average. However, as noted above, the Packers spent large stretches of their first seven games in the 0.91-1.00 territory of the WP graph. Because of that, the Packers' run/pass distribution has appeared average, even if they've profiled as a pass-heavy team under "normal" football conditions. And it's likely that, in future instances -- if and when the Packers find themselves in more competitive games -- that their run/pass outcomes will more closely resemble what we see in their run/pass distro from the middle ranges of WP.

Here is a link to the site that I use to get relevant info to determine future probabilities and yes, it is probably to advanced for the average "armchair quarterback" but has a wealth of info in it both past and present.

I will use week 10 Ind/Jax as the basis for graphing or technical analysis and to see your favorite team just click on the score at the top and let the program break it down or change weeks or even years for that matter to see the history of your team.

Look around this site if you want and it is insane the amount of info in it.

Advanced stats belong in baseball and nowhere else. Don't even get me started on them trying to use advanced stats in basketball.

For the average Joe that may be true but they are a great tool especially for fantasy leagues.

I use them for odds making as well.

History has a tendency to repeat itself and with technical analysis I make some pretty good predictions(granted they are simply predictions), more in the stock market but the principles are the same and are sound here as well.

No I get what you're saying but I mean it has no place in the game itself or in any argument about it. Stats never tell the complete story, no matter how advanced they are, and the only sport where stats can be had somewhat equally by players is baseball. Other things come into play for every other sport.

When I see ESPN or any person calling him/herself an expert let alone a sports writer trying to use any kind of stats to make an argument it angers me. Just watch the damn games and then you'll have all of the evidence you need! You don't need "metrics" or anything else to tell whether a player is a good on the ball defender or not.

It has its place but that place is strictly for people on the outside.

I hear you. I use technical analysis in the options and futures markets with good success and have found a correlation with my stats here as well, but get what you are saying and in the end, they are simply educated guesses in sports anyway.
