  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Yes you do accept hypothetical arguments. You just did. Everything leading up to dropping the bombs was hypothetical and you accept one of those hypothesis unquestioning.

And I'm also a firm believer in knowing our history so we don't have to re-live it if at all possible.

simple because you cannot kill all the terrorists

and if you only count terror attacks on US soil then you insult all the US dead killed in terror attacks abroad

for every terrorist you kill the collateral damage you cause (Innocent deaths ) creates 2 more terrorists and a room full of sympathizers

    you wont win

eventually you will back down a talk to them

It's one thing to know history and I understand about the not wanting to relive it if at all possible, but when it comes to other countries, that's the difficult part to control.

There are so many facets of WWll it's hard to know about all of them. I haven't done a lot of reading about the war between Japan and China, but I do know quite a bit about Germany, et al. I watched the HBO mini-series The Pacific and that was very informative. I learned a lot I never knew.

For you history buffs, you might be interested in this...Dan Carlin'a Hardcore History. He does podcasts about history that are very informative. www.dancarlin.com

You will eventually wear down the support that allows them to export the terror, this has unquestionably worked.

Insult our fallen soldiers? I adamantly disagree with that analysis, those who died on foreign soil did so with the intention of keeping the fight in the terrorists backyard. The sacrifices made by those Americans who died fighting the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan have improved the security of our country.

Why do you think that you can talk to them?

Okay, have it your way. I'm sure that the strategists will be happy to see your suggestions and act them accordingly.

We have just exchanged opinions on a subject that neither of us will ever have a chance to see activated.

You don't seem to understand one small problem, to whom do we talk? There is no focal point like the IRA, there are dozens of different factions and sub-factions.

Look at the Palestinian situation, there have been talks for decades, have any of them worked?

They don't work because what the terrorists are after is not something that we will give up. That is the end of our influence and interest from the region. It is also the jihads goal to eliminate Israel, this is a religious based terrorist movement, they will not compromise their religion.

there have been no meaning full talks in Palestine both sides still think they can win

and if there is no organization to talk to there is no organization to destroy so how can your military might defeat them

and what right do you in the USA have to influence and dominate other Nations that is a very imperialistic attitude

But you haven't said whoi we should talk with.

We are not trying to defeat a country, we are trying to defeat a terrorism support structure.

We have no right to dominate another country, we have every right to influence their relationship with us. Imperialism is what you blokes perfected, it is not our MO.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, in this thread or even in the world, but something that bothers me a great deal is this notion that for some reason ALL Americans are such isolationists that we are collectively unaware of other countries histories.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

The following is directed towards SundayBazar

It is insulting to ask the question, "You remember 9-11, but do you remember Nagasaki and Hiroshima?"

Of course we do. We're the ones that bombed them. IDC who attacked who first, that doesn't matter. We nuked them, and we remember. Asking questions like, "Was it right?" and statements such as, "We coulda done it differently" are pointless. America bombed two Japanese cities. It happened. A long time ago. It is time to move on.

That is revisionist history and a loaded question to start with. OP obviously has never heard of Nanking in 1947 or that we didn't start the war. It was instead started in a place called Pearl Harbor when the Japanese bombing us during Sunday morning services, while sailors and airmen were away from their units. These nihilistic morons flail about like this because they blame America for every evil around the world.

They tried allying with the US/UK in the first world war, and they got royally screwed over in the peace treaties. They didn't earn a damn thing for their efforts.

Hardly surprising they tried joining the other team for round two.

That's a nonsensical question. Many acts committed during a declared war ARE acts of terrorism. Their purpose is to frighten the enemy into giving up. Hiroshima and Nagasaki are the two most obvious examples.

How does what the Japanese did in Nanking justify what we did to them? It doesn't. War is hell. It supposedly has rules but it's all bunk. War is just hell.

Oh bullshit tenguy. If we were trying to defeat the terrorism support structure we'd have left Afghanistan and Iraq alone and bombed and invaded Saudi Arabia which is where not only most the terrorists that attacked us were from but also where the vast majority of Al Qaeda's money comes from.
