I have a question about World War 3. Some people in the media say we are already in World War 3. While I don't agree with this, what is your take on it? Do you think we will witness a third world war in our lifetimes?

 

I sure the fuck hope not .......... and hope China feels that way as well .

If it were to start anywhere , that what be my guess and it would be quick and painful .

I think Korea and China would have a role in it. America invades Korea because Korea set off a nuclear bomb. China comes to Korea's side. England France Australia and maybe Canada come to the USA side. Russia gets involved. All hell breaks loose.

i hope not a world war, but a civil war against the government would be nice. It would be nice to actually be free, unlike the false claims the government makes now that we are free.

No nation can win a world war, and every nation knows that. So no, there isn't going to be one.


There might be a lunatic somewhere who detonates a nuclear warhead, but it won't lead to general annihilation.

 

The next five years I believe are going to be interesting times.
Iran and it's agenda is a very big question mark.
The uprisings throughout the Middle East of Islamic nations along with the redistribution of power and new mindsets of restructured governments will also be a deciding factor on global stability.
With historical conflicts between Islamism, Jews and Christianity of the region along with the new priorities of these groups after the dust settles from current overthrows, old grudges may lesson or become a feverish pitch. The very real possibilities of extremes in philosophical direction could take us into worldwide horror or tolerance. It's that scenario of the upcoming final mindsets of restructuring that will ultimately decide an uneasy peace or outright war.
Both China India and the U.S. which are major powers with nuclear capabilities will be searching out new sources of energy which for the most part will be oil and a conflict amongst those powers when push comes to shove could also be the catalyst for disaster.
The fact also exists of a lesser power fearing the inevitable over run of their borders by major powers seeking access to their resources could pit nations against one another that could set the stage for major conflict.
These are only a few possibilities of a much larger picture.
Global warming and overpopulation with not enough food to feed the masses and all hell could break loose without conflicts of religion, race creed or color even being minimal factors in future conflicts.
Worldwide financial crashes and everyone is going to want what their neighbor has and will likely attempt to take it.
But then a pandemic could very well break out that could wipe out major portions of humanity that would leave too few people left to mount attacks of even minor consequence.
To be honest, I believe anything could happen. But I also think the future is likely to be bleak and not much chance of a rosy future..

dont know whether its started or not, but it will happen i guess in near future.
Economy is on verge of collapse..so to save once own a** they will start to attack other country and involve everybody in it!

Looking into the future, the next world super powers will be India and China. There is a great deal of hostility between Pakistan and India. Both of which are countries with nuclear weaponary. Infact if it wasn't for the nuclear weaponary, chances are they would be on the verge of a full scale war by now.

Full scale civil wars could break out in the middle east. we have seen signs of this already in places like Bahrain. If China decides to get involved, this could prove to be disasterous for western-eastern relations.

Hopefully I wont see WWIII in my lifetime.

A note for you young'ins, this was written in the 60's, hence the references to colour telly and a couple of other things.

 

i do with a passion, the government has shit on people for many years, they have made people's lives miserable, they steal money, property and homes from people, and they take as much freedom as they can from people. Most are afraid to stand up to the government because you cant beat a corrupted system. I am sick to death of the games that they play with peoples lives and well being and the fact that they show no remorse for what they do.

 

you're right, a chaotic, barbaric, no laws, no order, no structure, every man for himself tribal society would be much easier to live in.

You make that sound like a bad thing. Hell, we could use a good thinning of the heard! Our society has a lot of dead wood that just begs to be pruned.

 

World war III will not be the kind of set piece warfare that we became accustomed to in WWI and WWII. The war that will eventualy be called world war III will most likely be a series of smaller conflicts fought by smaller nations over things like water, oil and or food and will involve the superpowers only from the standpoint of using these smaller countries as proxy states against eachother much the same way the Soviet Union and the U.S. used proxy states in an effort to gain the upper hand in the region.

Direct conflict between super powers would be far to costly in terms of men and material and the inevitable escalation would be an open invitation to a general nuclear exchange which nobody on the face of the globe besides Iran and North Korea want. Massive battles that eat up men and material that in the modern age take years or even decades to replace where in WWII it took weeks. Liberty ships for example could be built in as little as twenty four hours altho the average was close to a week and a half. Bombers only took days to build then but now they take two years. And tooling up for maximum output would take at least five to seven years when it took less than a year in 1941.

I suspect that a fair amount of the conflict will in some way or another center around Israel and the Middle east but tensions will erupt all over the world allowing the super powers to flex thier muscles and flaunt thier influence to try and out shine eachother and win control of the region.

As for a general nuclear exchange...probably not...at least not to begin with.
