Poll: More agree than disagree with Occupy Wall Street goals

Substantially more Americans agree than disagree with the goals of the Occupy Wall Street movement, according to a new poll. And nearly two-thirds say wealth should be distributed more equitably.

Forty-three percent of respondents to a new CBS/New York Times survey said they agree with Occupy Wall Street's goals, while, 27 percent said they disagree. Thirty percent were unsure.

And 46 percent said Occupy Wall street represents the views of most Americans, while 34 percent said it doesn't.

Younger Americans, those with more education, and those who describe themselves as liberal were most likely to support the protests.

The movement, which began with demonstrations in lower Manhattan last month and has since spread to cities across the country, has inveighed against growing inequality and corporate influence in the political system.

Meanwhile, just 26 percent said that money and wealth are distributed fairly in America, while 66 percent say they aren't.

First of who's money and wealth is it? And who is doing the distributing?

And most of all... What's fair?

As a tradesman if I make 35 dollars an hour... And another tradesman working for a different employer makes 25 dollars and hour... Does that mean I should be distributing my "EXTRA"" 10 dollars per hour with him?

If I own my house, and have it paid off in e
20 years a new neighbor moves in next door, and holds a debt of 200K on it, does that mean I have to pick up half his debt, so that it's 'fair'?

If I work my entire life, and build a nest egg for retirement of a million dollars, does this mean I have to distribute my nest egg with a million other retirees who lost their nest egg?

If my business makes it ans turns a profit, does this mean I should distribute those profits to the businesses that failed?????

If I have a job, and my neighbor doesn't... Does that mean I split my paycheck with him?

I own three cars, another guy owns one. Do I distibute my wealth in the form of excess cars with him and give him one?

If I own 300 hotels and the next guy only owns thirty... Are my hotels distributed evenly to make it fair?

If I make 10 billion dollars do I share my ten billion with those who make w0 thousand? Or none? Or 10 million?

Whom is distributing who's wealth? And what exactly makes it fair?

Distributing wealth fairly is a goal towards what?

I think the most poignant thing in there is that reserve banks were providing emergency loans to palces that can and are paying them back.

Not like the federal reserve handing out emergency loans to places that have no ability, or even a plan to pay the loans back.
