I would sell the machine for parts. Make some cash. One shouldn't interfere with the past as it effects the present and knowing the future will alter things to come.

 

That is debatable. First we would need a better understanding of time to make such assumptions. Something we would probably know once we have built a time machine...

 

If I had access to a time machine, I'd go back in time to before it was invented and patent it, so that the money from the invention was all mine.


The fact that nobody's done that is the best evidence we have that time travel is impossible.

Time travel to the future is very possible. Time travel to the past introduces issues. There may be reasons for why we haven't seen time travelers other than it being impossible. Such reasons maybe that it is impossible for people to travel back in time further than the point in time that the time machine is invented, I'm not really a fan of that idea. The other is that going back into the past results in returning to a separate time line as to not break the laws of causality. Mathmatically time travel to the past is plausible but the conditions are not all that simple. Time travel to the future is easy, it just requires a lot of energy.

the reason we've not seen time travelers is that they have interfered in the past (creating the hundreds of conspiracy theories) and learned to use time travel only as documentation of actual historical events for the future....

I would go back to January 2000 and NOT invest my retirement 401K in the stock market and watch half of it disappear in the next year as actually occured.

There are many other sins/errors/goofs that I would go back and correct. Especially I would go back and tell my mother and father that I love and respect them more than I did.

And, yes, taking advantage of missed chances for sex would be included.
