  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

    :-s:-s

Apparently I'm now called 'Ninam Ownby'

I've found 'Sophie's Summer Holiday' there  There may well be more of my stories over there.

I'm quite annoyed, not so much at the pilagarism (although that is somewhat irritating) but at the fact that I'm not being given the name-check for it.
As I posted my story(-ies) here for free I haven't really lost out on anything by my work being re-posted elsewhere, but I would at least like my name (or at least my Internet Nom De Plume ) attached to it.

For those of us who write professionally or semi-professionally (I'm thinking of the likes of Nichola and Clarise here) it must be much more distressing, and very disheartening.

That was rather smug. So much for the tight-knit community we have here.

I took this to Lemark, he will keep me posted since they are taking screen-shots from this site.

I'm being honest. In the time it took to post the thread, a DMCA takedown notice could have been filed. GoDaddy is a pretty amicable host and usually responds within 24 hours.

A thanks goes out to LemarkxXx for helping all of us in this matter:)

I'm also 'Jack Roesell' on "Remember That Night"

At least that story will be getting a few more reads, I was quite proud of that one. Although it's not a bonk-a-thon (which is probably why it didn't ever get many reads) I feel it's one of my best stories.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a DMCA Takedown Notice, what does it do, and how does one apply for one?

If it's some form of Internet way to stop this pilagarism then I'd like to join in, but I'm a bit naive as to how to actually do it.

I would be flattered to be plagiarized. At least that is some sort of recognition.

I don't really care if they steal my stories or not. I write them for my own pleasure and I put them out in "internetland" so others may enjoy them. I assume that any stories I post may be stolen. It saves me the trouble of finding new story sites, creating a membership, and going through the submission process. I just wish the thieves would PM me so I would know where they're posted and I could see the comments. But thieves don't normally leave a calling card.

Certainly. It is a way to stop internet plagiarism because rights have to be upheld. Copywritten works are protected irrespective of their "official" copyright.

DMCA stands for Digital Mellinium Copyright Act. It is a U.S. law passed to implement an international treaty created by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization). This treaty is designed to protect intellectual properties created by those countries which choose to be part of the treaty. That includes most of the world.

Is it the website owners grabbing stories and changing the author's names or are individuals stealing stories and posting them as their own?

I sincerely doubt individuals are stealing them since my 3 part Nora series was supposedly written by 3 different writers.

Thanks. My browser wouldn't open the site for some reason so I have not able to check it out yet.

Short lived scammers looking for a bit of advertising revenue I suppose.
    Meh:rolleyes:

maybe everyone should scan through Literotica to make sure they haven't been nabbed by someone on there.

Thanks to those that are doing something. I didn't find any of my own stuff over there; maybe because I haven't been around long enough to generate enough reads per to draw their notice, maybe because they hate my stories as much as my mom does. Still, it's nice someone is doing something on our behalf (thanks ejls, I'm gonna wait another week or two to pick some kind of fight with you in return for the favor).

So when it comes to these DMCA filings. Is it far better for everyone to file one than to just let one person do it and wait to see what happens? Should we all be banging them out right now? Can one file one as proxy on behalf of someone else (thus letting everyone who reads this file one on behalf of 'some author they know', whoever it might be)? Or would this have the effect of looking like a raid or forum rally and thus have the challenge to their ownership taken less seriously?

Let me know if I can do anything to help, I'm down for whatever since we're all crew here.

I like how I have a 20 part story and the entire story all written by different hands... How the fuck does that work...I sent an E-mail... and got a "email send failure."

In the orrder they were asked:

Both work. Yes, probably. Proxies aren't necessary, it is the claim itself that matters and if it is proven adequately. Larger complainants equal a greater need for the matter to be taken care of.

    http://www.whoishostingthis.com/

Find an "abuse" response link on the host site or send a DMCA complaint to whatever the contact us link is. Make sure your host isn't being hosted by someone else. The top dog is key.

Ah. Thank you. Perfect. So until they get around to copy/pasting a 45 part series of my own I shouldn't bother riding with the posse.

    Sure it's theft. So what?

Yes I made it, although I was upset to see that their file size restrictions meant some stories were cut off in their prime.

But why get excited about this? Publishing on xnxx means we don't earn a cent and we don't get any recognition outside this anonymous gathering. My satisfaction comes from knowing that some people somewhere may get some pleasure from reading my stuff. And I'm childish enough (in this respect only) to think the more the better. Unfortunately the site doesn't seem to record reads.

A quick review of their "best" lists shows a relative lack of incest related titles compared to xnxx which makes me think that other sites have been raided as well.

Still it obviously won't last. I see that Lemark has been alerted and therefore we can confidently expect an instantaneous response.
