In retrospect it makes sense. There are married couples here with both partners posting, a few cases where one partner was here and the other still is, and some cases where one partner is here and the other knows but isn't here and never was. Beyond that you have cases where one partner is here and the other doesn't know.

Looking at all of the possible scenarios for married people it makes sense. Singles are here as singles only.

 

If you look at all couples you have: 20 married, 1 engaged, and 8 boyfriend/girlfriend = 29

Singles = 17

That's almost 2:1, not what stereotyping leads people to believe.

I am happily married, and not long ago celebrated my 18th wedding anniversary...
We have enough money in the bank so that I never need to work again, we have bought our own flat (NO financial help needed.) I have passed the language examination needed to show that I can communicate with people in German. We also have our FULL residency permits which allow us to live here in Austria for as long as we want.
We have been successful in setting up a new life here in Austria, something that a lot of our friends back in England thought we would never do...
