Where do you find the imagination to write these too? Or are they real?

 

Thank you for your comments . To be honest, I am a slow writer, and tend to write just a little bit at a time so it takes me quite a while to write a story. I'm sure many people would be able to write them faster than me, in fact I'm certain that I would be able to write them faster if I wanted to. I just like to take my time and have fun with it .

Imagination and motivation for stories can come from many different places actually. It's surprising how often I see something and think "hey, that would make a good story" you know? Often song lyrics make me think of story lines. This particular story was inspired by two guys I saw when I visited the beach back in the summer. The scene in the cafe which was part of the story, is similar to something I actually witnessed early this year. These two guys were sat seperately in the cafe I was at, but they kept looking over at each other and eventually ended up sitting together and having a good chat, and then finally leaving together. I couldn't help but wonder what they got up to after they left, because obviously I didn't stalk them haha! So I thought I would make it up and try to write a story about it, and here we are. Short Term Relationship .

I loved this story. I liked the sex, but I also enjoyed the beginning of the tale: "The simplest of touches can occasionally have the most profound effect on a person, if the situation is right".

It would have been nice had the relationship lasted longer than a couple of hours, and may have made the intensity of the emotion involved more understandable, but that in no way detracts from the beauty of this story.

This is one of my favourite stories in this challenge.

I don't read a lot of gay stories, so I'm not going to comment on that aspect of it. What I mean is, I don't know if it's a good gay story or not, as opposed to being just a good story. I think it reads okay, in terms of the writing style, but I think it tries to be more than it is. A chance meeting in a cafe which leads to casual sex at the guy's house is made to sound like a great romantic adventure. Okay, it wasn't a sordid glory hole blow job in a men's toilets, but it wasn't a million miles away. I think the problem is that the main character invested too much emotion into what was ultimately a casual hook-up. In story terms, I also think the writer was wrong to start by telling us that the relationship was over after only one day which, along with the title, sort of gave away the ending. Overall, I thought the writing was good but the subject matter and the general feel of the story didn't really do it for me, but I was glad to read something that I wouldn't normally read. Thanks.
