I worked on a Christmas tree farm as a boy. Got my first piece of ass there, so i'm sentimental. I'd like to think that girl grew up to be like Mary.

No-vote city? I guess that's why ejls and some others are talking so much about comments and pms. I'm guilty of being terrible with that. The idea of commenting became foreign to me after the bullshit I went through on the Sex Stories Site.

Note to self: Work on that. We all need to actually read what people think of our work. Some times, the truth hurts, but in a setting like a Challenge, we seem to all talk to each other a little more, which is a good thing.

Now, if only people would get off their asses and read. I hope to accomplish some of that myself today.

 

I think the challenge is a wonderful idea... Honestly, a little competition is good as long as people play fair and are good sports and provide meaningful criticism after doing some critical reading. You know, there are a lot of talented authors here and competing and providing meaningful criticism to one another makes them more awesome than they already are.:rose:

I just finished one of the stories that is over on the stories side of the forum. Ramadan by BlackRonin. I commented on it over there but also wanted to comment here. I just wanted to say that it was a thoroughly enjoyable story, awesome dialogue, and it very much evokes the tone of The Arabian Nights. Great job, BR!

 

Gotta agree. That one's on my long-short list. I expected BlackRonin's entry to be good as soon as I saw the title.

There are also some excellent stories by some people I, at least, had never heard of before.

Am I being too redundant by thanking everyone who wrote a story once again?

 

Thanks everyone, I thought up that story a few months ago but was busy with other projects. The theme of the challenge gave me a perfect opportunity to return to it. Believe it or not, I was actually a little worried that the references to Islam would attract trolls, but the reaction seems to have been very positive overall.

I'm behind on reading the other stories because of personal problems, but the reading period is long this time. I hope I can give everyone's work the deference it deserves.

 

About the length of the reading period,...

When I first came up with my deadline and dates, I had it in my head that we might get even more stories than we did. A couple people chimed in on the Challenge thread and said they thought they'd write something, so I though I might have to post two polls.

Considering that I wondered how hard putting up one poll would be (which it wasn't -- thanks, ejls, for holding my hand through that), I figured it might take a day or two to get one poll going, let alone two. I wanted to make sure everyone had time to read all the stories.

I also knew that some people work overtime, approaching the end of the year, or have family obligations, or office holiday parties that turn into drunken sex orgies, so I wanted to allow for that, too.

So, there's time to read and savor them all, which I kinda like. Relax and enjoy.

For people that had intended to submit a story, but didn't for whatever reason, all the "Thank you's" that have been posted just might be the needed impetus to get them to actually do so for the next (and subsequent?) CAW contests.

Answering your question a little more simply, "No" . . .

I made Pie... Mincemeat and Cherry...
I made the Cherry pie because my wife hasn't figured out that mincemeat is the most awesome pie in the entire universe next to buttermilk chess pie... which holds the place of most awesome pie in the universe... Mmmm Pie... and I think tomorrow .... RUM

Who doesn't love a good pie? When I read your first line though I thought you meant mincemeat and cherry in the same pie! Sounds revolting lol, so I'm glad I read the next bit. I feel obliged however to point out that the "most awesome pie in the universe" is steak and onion .

 

*ponders the whole steak and onion pie concept* that is more like a shepherds pie less the mutton then? *Makes note to try that when it is next encountered*
