As no doubt many of you have seen sweet arab's post in the pictures forum, and they are both totally wrong and are just plain hate mongering, and the problem is it seems to be working. proof:
In the islamic religion wouldnt she be taken out to the middle of the desert and left to die because she kissed him? We all know how islam's god is apparently gay and is a woman hater.

I already sent Nophest, the admin, a PM asking for sweetarab to be banned. He has not yet responded.

I, and just about everyone on this site, would very much appreciate "sweet arab" to be banned. While I have "ignored" sweet arab and skip any threads started by him/her, the posts sweet arab makes tend to anger the general population of xnxx forums. People make death threats to sweet arab for every post he/she makes.

I believe that, for the general sanity of the forum and for the happiness of its members, "sweet arab" should be banned. "Sweet arab's" purpose is to aggravate the members of this forum and he/she is succeeding in his/her quest.

While I am not in the habit of suggesting bans on particular people when they make me angry (that is what the "ignore" option is for, in my view), it is not my anger that I am concerned about, but those of others.

I appreciate your consideration in this matter.

I think this properly sums up what has been going on in the forum, put in a nice way. Other than that, I don't think there's much anyone can do.

I'm all for free speech, but this forum is dedicated to porn and sexuality, not angering people and getting them all riled up.

 

If you don't like it, don't click her threads. It's as simply as that

 

Maybe just take away her ability to post threads =D I'd be happy with that =D
nothing can be done... though... but it is an adult site content should be related... or perhaps her picture threads should be just tranfered to general discussion... where they can be ignored in peace ... or be used as a means of people venting there futrations...

even if you cut off the snakes head it will still byte... I move that her threads fall into "general discussion" and not "pic & movies" as they are not sexual in content...

That's what I do. But my request to ban Sweet Arab is not about me, it's about all of us. How many people do you think find this site, and are thinking about joining, then they stumble upon one of Sweet Arab's threads, and decide maybe this forum isn't right from them after all? That's this community losing potential members, because they are scared off or angered by this site and choose not to come anymore.

Similarly, while I do abide by what you say in that I don't click on sweet arab's threads, many people do click on them, and in turn they get angry, and start a flame war, rather than ignoring the thread to let it die. While I have already "ignored" Sweet Arab, not everyone has. To maintain sanity in this forum, it would be best to ban Sweet Arab.

Take for instance, I just saw a user name called "ground_zero" that has been banned (in place of a rank, it says "Banned!" so I assume that's what it is, since he only has 14 posts). Why has this user been banned? I have no idea. I looked through his posts and found nothing except "That's cool" and variations on this with few words each. Nothing offensive or even noteworthy in anyway (I assume any offensive posts by ground_zero must have been deleted).

Clearly, the admins are willing to ban people for some reason, I should expect that the number one reason for banning someone is that their posts are written strictly to outrage members and have nothing to do with porn or sex.

It is an easy one-size-fits-all answer to say "just don't click on her threads" but not everyone listens to that advice. A malicious person that isn't stopped could in essence destroy the forum by angering members so much that they leave the site.

Sometimes, you simply cannot ignore the problem and hope it goes away. I wish you could.

 

Sweet Arab likely won't be banned, at least not yet. Our most wise and immaculate moderators and administrators take a pretty lenient, permissive view of things around here, which I think is ultimately better for all of us.

The 'inoffensive' posts that you saw were merely to get his post count up to 10, so that he could then post links to sites that required members to download active X objects to view.
I'm sure that you are all aware that these files usually contain spyware and keyloggers.
That's why he was banned, and his threads removed.

there have been situations such as this in the past, where us mods have banned someone and then people got very upset about it. So instead, at least I personally just step back on issues like this

Sorry, Chagrin. As long as Sweet Arab isn't doing anything to cause harm to your property, then it's up to you to keep your values from being offended by simply avoiding Sweet Arab's posts.

I would be immensely satisfied with the compromise that Sweet Arab's threads be moved out of the "Pics & Vids" section and into the "General Discussion" section. But if I'm looking for some girl-on-girl strapon action, and I see a thread about it, and I click on the link, and I discover that the video is really showing a real abortion, I lose my woody pretty damn fast. To have a misnamed thread is bad enough, but having one that genuinely angers my fellow xnxxers, so much that they retaliate with their own unthinking filth and bile, this is what makes me upset.

(My examples are not necessarily anything that Sweet Arab has actually posted).

It's not that Sweet Arab is getting her rocks off (because that must be the reason she posts), but it's that she is angering others in the process that I have a problem with.

I'm no fan of Sweat Arab (or whatever name it goes by these days), but I am a strict free speech constructionist and find that this site is one of the few that honors that idea. The request to ban made in a public forum like this feeds the very behavior you seem to despise. If you really want to effect this nutcase - ignore it. It is here to provoke. Leave the threads posted by it unclicked and soon it will tire of not getting the attention it craves. It will take a certain amount of personal discipline, but the alternative - banning words, images and ideas that may (or may not) offend - is ridiculously difficult to standardize . . . and, I fear, would undermine to most compelling feature of this place.

educate - pontificate - encourage others to ignore - but, do not censor. My 2 cents.

Unfortunately, though, I doubt it will happen. People would rather show their anger by posting on a thread they dislike and keep it afloat. You are right, people should ignore offending posts, but not everyone does.

 

The reason that people don't desist from commenting on these offensive posts is quite simple.
They enjoy it, in fact they LOVE it!!
There is a mentality here that delights in taking any opportunity to indulge in wanton abuse, hatred and racism. When someone like Sweetarab comes along, it only inspires these people to pack together, occasionally biting at each others throats, but keeping their eyes on their prey, while scornfully sweeping aside any pleas for reason!
I cannot count the number of times that I, and others with me, have pleaded with people not to post on these contentious threads and been ignored, I have considered 'locking' them, but that would be seen as censorship.

So what are you suggesting pornoman, that we ban and remove the threads of anyone who posts something contentious because it brings out the worst in other members?
Haven't you noticed that these objections happen all the time? There isn't a day goes by here when someone isn't shouting for another member to be banned because they don't like a thread topic.
All that happens when someone like Sweetarab comes along, is that the objections are all aimed at the same target and the objectors, finding themselves in a like-minded mob, become even more abusive, hateful and racist than normal.
It's called mob-mentality!

This forum functions almost entirely without rules, which means that the burden of responsibility for what it is lies almost entirely on the members.
If the admin and moderators have to make themselves the enforcers of forum content so as to encourage people to be nice, well.......

Nope ... I don't think banning is the answer. For every Sweat Arab, there are 10 others waiting to post something controversial, hateful or ridiculous (of course, all those terms are subjective). And as chunky said, people love this stuff, whether or not they'll admit it. It's like watching an accident on the side of the road. Or the K-Fed and Brittney TV show.

Just use the "ignore" feature if a poster is that offensive. It's like your very own banning button.
