I'm one of those people who believe that a natural progression of sexuality is healthy and should not be jumped over. I believe that for most part, two kids about 8 or 9 playing "You show me yours and I'll show you mine", and then a couple of years later they start to feel, touch and explore is actually kind-of healthy. Yes, there are MANY exceptions to this, but on a whole . . . .

So in my mind, when someone who is older comes into the picture and introduces too much too soon too quickly, it can be detrimental. For this reason, I don't think any younger teenager (about 12 - 15) should be involved with someone more than a couple of years older than they are. As for older teenagers (about 16-19), I can see them being with someone three or four years older than them, but no more.

And as far as the case of a 15 year old being really, really mature . . .

Even if they do seem to be mature, a 15 year old is a 15 year old and has no business being with someone in their 20's much less older than that.

I know I am right. A man that is in his forties or older, will always pursue a teenage girl over a woman that's in her mid twenties or older. Teens mature? Who do you think you're fooling? Most mid-20's aren't mature enough to be even roughly emotionally or mentally stable. It just depends on the person. Most I would say 18 for sure. But I might say 16 even for some.

I had heard that commnet from my step mothers friends until I got their photos albums out from my age and younger.... clothes and how easily we show our bodies off might have changed but figures are all that dramatically different. There may be exceptions but generally Im not so sure development has changed.

As for age, put me down for 17. (In most states in Aus its 16 to be with an adult and if either is under 16 then the allow a two year age difference. Any greater than that then the older one is in trouble).

Your right that the term "mature teens" is an oxymoron for somebody over a certain age. Im 18 and I would say some people are mature that you would say are not even close. I consider my self pretty mature for my age, but compared to you Im not. As you get older your deffiniton of mature changes.
