why dose it seems that the things that are most taboo are at the same time secretly exhilarating and seems to turn people one most. Since people are so turned on y them then why be ashamed to tell people.

 

It simply boils down the that very ellusive rule of being normal, and socially accepted.

Granted there is that age old question "What is normal?" Which by the way I have yet to hear an answer that is satisfactory to me. Very well put, Krait. Indeed, some things people are into are Taboo not for any serious reason, just because people don't want to accept anything other than what is deemed by society to be "normal"
There are many people into Incest. Probably enough people that it could become normal if everyone into it admitted it. The problem is, a great many of these people are afraid that if they even imply being into it, that they will be judged negatively, and thus hide it, and pretend to be disgusted by it.
Some people are into Animals. I don't get it. What I do get is, I really don't see how it would be harmful to anyone. Maybe the animal will kick the person and hurt them? Perhaps... Still, that's their issue, not mine. But, people like to judge them, and label it as "animal abuse." (As if a horse would consider itself "abused" if a hot chick sucked its cock.)
Some people are into kids. Society believes that such things will "leave mental scars on the child for life." And those who admit to it or even say things about it half-jokingly are told they're "sick in the head." Looking back on history, though, even as recently as fifty years ago, it was normal to marry a 13 y/o and have sex with her. More often than not, she grew up to be perfectly healthy, and if she had any mental scars, it was from the beatings, not the sex. Still, some expert who probably lived his (more likely her) entire life single and never interacting with anyone has deemed to to be so. (As if I care about what "experts" on children have to say anymore. I just heard on the news that an "expert" on children believes they shouldn't have to learn to share.)
So, there you have it. Society has deemed certain things to be "abnormal" or "immoral" for no apparent reason. The government deems that "It is so" and everyone just swallows it up. Anyone who doesn't is mentally ill. There's no proof of what is claimed, there's no real reason why it would be harmful to anyone involved, but that's what people will tell you.
