  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

From the evidence, I'd say it's basically an "all of the above" policy. His policies have increased domestic oil drilling and domestic production is the highest it's been in a decade. He's promoted green energy development. He proceeded cautiously on deep-water oil drilling in the wake of the BP disaster, as any sane person would.

But if you think the U.S. can produce it's way out of its dependence on foreign oil, you're living in la-la-land. No energy expert would make a claim like that.

The reason you're paying so much more is the same reason you've always paid more: taxes. The U.S. should do the same.

BUT WE CAN...but not by drilling for oil but by setting measures to start the conversion to Nat Gas which will give us 75 years for the conversion to wind solar or whatever we can invent between now and then.

Perhaps, if you ignore the cost and environmental impacts of production and consumption.

    Oil men's propaganda.....

Just like the pipeline from Canada will lower prices for us

Just like if we just conserve - use less...BS

However another reason for the rise in oil and commodities is the outrageous printing of fiat currencies around the world.

Listening to the rhetoric surrounding the pipeline, you'd think the oil being transported was actually domestic and not Canadian. Or that it was destined for the U.S. and not someplace else.

I think it is suppose to tie into to all those new oil fields in North Dakota.

But that oil is going somewhere else. Lawsuits springing up here in Texas over land swindles for the right of way for the pipeline.

People seem to be under the mistaken impression that oil produced in the U.S. is owned by the U.S. government. Oil is oil, and it's bought and sold on a worldwide market. Which means, by the way, that the U.S. will continue to import oil as long as it's cheaper to do that than to do something else.

Actually I believe they are more than listening. I think the Obama Administration is setting the oil companies and their bought and paid for politicians up for another big fall.

But of course all I can do is wait and see.

And actually the conversion to natural gas as fuel is well underway and I have to admit that after advocating for it for decades along with hemp I did not see the entrance of natural gas onto our market but there are already natural gas outlets at lots of stations around here.

Since we move about 60% of our materials and products by trucks converting them from diesel to natural gas would make a huge dent in our dependence on oil. And I think that's happening as we speak.

You just said it. They told us to conserve which we did and what did we get for it. Gas approaching $4.00 per gallon while gasoline and diesel fuel are our two largest exports. We've conserved enough gasoline and diesel fuel to export it to the same countries they exported our jobs to.

This thread is crazy. Wacko, moon-base-alpha crazy.

Someone on here says solar will be cost-effective in four years. Yeah. When we give Solyndra another $500 billion.

Someone else says gas has a long way before it hits Euro price scales. Yet a half gallon of orange juice in the U.S. already costs around four bucks.

A whole bunch of people point out that the U.S. is a refined petrol exporter, and they are blaming corporate profiteering for the shortage. Yeah. We're an exporter for the first time in decades, because under new EPA regulations it's cheaper to ship crude here, refine it for Asian markets, ship it all the way to Asia, and then sell it there at wholesale, than it is to refine it in St. Croix and sell it in Virginia.

Speaking of which, the EPA tried to shakedown HOVENSA/St. Croix to the tune of $700 million, so HOVENSA closed!!!!! But that can't be a cause for the price spike. Nawwwww. It's George Bush's fault.

    Of course.

And now, what is our best idea from The Messiah, with his 168 IQ (laugh), and his Columbia undergraduate degree (thanks Affirmative Action), and his Harvard graduate degree (thanks Affirmative Action) and his Nobel Peace Prize (thanks collective madness)?

    ... drum roll...

    Pond Scum.

Pond scum will replace 17% of U.S. energy needs, and we'll be "doing alright."

Yeah. Last I heard, Sapphire Energy Corp. got more than $100 million bucks in Stimulus funds to develop pond scum based fuel. As of the time Sapphire went belly up, their "green altenative fuel" was selling for twenty six dollars ($26) per gallon.

So that is the Messiah's solution out of our jam. Not to beat the EPA with a stick. Not to approve all those new exploratory wells for actual production. Not to fast-track cross-continental pipelines that could tie Dakota supplies to refineries.

    No.

The Messiah's solution is to replace $5 per gallon fuel with $26 per gallon fuel.

Ahh, well. I know. All Bush's fault. Yeah, yeah. I get it.

    Sheesh.

I can afford $6.00 per gallon gas. The moonbats who still admit to voting for Obama, for the most part, can't.

    Good. Fuck'em. FUCK....EM.

ComEd is in Chicago. I live down state. Coal is king down here. There is a nuclear plant about 20 miles from here. Wind mills are growing faster than the corn around here (they do fascinate me) but produce expensive energy and still don't match the output of a good power plant. They are also unreliable as the wind doesn't blow all of the time. We use natural gas to heat our homes and water.

I think I love you, Clarise!

Obama has yet to raise any tax. These are started in the House of Rep. which has stonewalled itself against any possible tax rise. Whether or not Obama may want to raise taxes (mostly on the very wealthy), the US House is the gatekeeper. Get your facts correct dude!

Angry About High Gas Prices? Blame Shuttered Oil Refineries

By Matthew Philips | BusinessWeek – 16 hours ago

The average price of gas is up more than 10 percent since the start of the year, a point repeatedly made during Wednesday’s Republican Presidential debate. Predictably, the four GOP candidates blamed President Barack Obama for the steep increase.

Actually, the President doesn’t have that kind of pricing power. The more likely reason behind the price increase, though certainly less compelling as a political argument, is the recent spate of refinery closures in the U.S. Over the past year, refineries have faced a classic margin squeeze. Prices for Brent crude have gone up, but demand for gasoline in the U.S. is at a 15-year low. That means refineries haven’t been able to pass on the higher prices to their customers.

As a result, companies have chosen to shut down a handful of large refineries rather than continue to lose money on them.
