Actually Ace the Heritage Society fails to mention the Koch Brothers are actually driving up the price of oil more than the Obama Administration.

And you know for those of you paying $4 per gallon instead of bitching about President Obama I'd be having some of your elected officials look into price gouging.

I'm paying $3.19 per gallon and have been for a couple weeks now.

And I realize that gas prices are different all over the country but the main thing is I just haven't seen the price increase when they claim its been going up every day.

Wow nice find and I actually believe its true. The price of oil is not going to do anything but go up over the long term so what we're really doing is just making it more profitable to export gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.

Last time I checked the guys responsible for this were wearing "Wing Tips" but I'm not much of a fashion expert. I just know I spent most my life in steel toed boots and we were not the ones doing it. That was the boys down on Wall Street.

Obama regime admits it wants high gas prices

On Tuesday, the Obama administration admitted it wants Americans to feel more pain at the gas pump in a hearing before the House Appropriations energy and water subcommittee.
When pressed by Rep. Alan Nunnelee (R-MS), Energy Secretary Steven Chu admitted the goal is to spur research into alternative fuel sources in order to wean the nation off fossil fuels.
After taking Chu to task for his 2008 comment that gas prices should be as high as they are in Europe, Rep. Nunnelee said Americans need relief now.
“I can’t look at motivations. I have to look at results. And under this administration the price of gasoline has doubled,” he said.

    Politico added:
“The people of north Mississippi can’t be here, so I have to be here and be their voice for them,” Nunnelee added. “I have to tell you that $8 a gallon gasoline makes them afraid. It’s a cruel tax on the people of north Mississippi as they try to go back and forth to work. It’s a cloud hanging over economic development and job creation.”
Chu expressed sympathy but said his department is working to lower energy prices in the long term.

“We agree there is great suffering when the price of gasoline increases in the United States, and so we are very concerned about this,” said Chu, speaking to the House Appropriations energy and water subcommittee. “As I have repeatedly said, in the Department of Energy, what we’re trying to do is diversify our energy supply for transportation so that we have cost-effective means.”

Tell them,, that they only need to keep their belts tightened for just a few more months.

By the way, I have brought this to the attention of a couple unmentioned leftists on this site,, they so fashionably, ignored the post.

Did anyone else notice that the price of both oil and gasoline went down last night?

And I actually do credit President Obama for that. On the one hand by keeping the speculators worried that he might sell them short. But perhaps more importantly putting a serious damper on war with Iran.

The people that make a living driving a truck, taxi, limo, news carriiers, etc. are hurting the worst because of the high prices. People that commute to work long distances are also effected more than average. On the other hand, high gas prices tend to spur development in elecric cars. So there is a mix of good and bad in this. I have cut down on my driving because I can. Others may not be able to do so.

In the end, we're better off not being dependent on oil because of the price gouging.

The easy solution there is to convert from gasoline and diesel fuel to natural gas for those kinds of carriers while we transition to electric cars and trucks.

And actually there's more of that conversion than most people realize because I see natural gas outlets are now becoming part of commercial gas stations.

There you go. A perfect entrepreneurial opportunity.

I think similar small businesses could grow up around converting gas and diesel vehicles to natural gas fuel.

To be honest a year ago and especially a year and a half or so ago if you'd been paying attention you'd have heard me cussing my team; the liberal/progressive/Democrats. They, including our president, were acting timid and dumb in my opinion and they couldn't seem to do anything right including stand up for themselves.

But lately especially I've had a change of heart and think the progressive/liberal/Democrats have turned themselves around and are actually kicking ass, especially against the conservative/Republican/Tea Baggers in congress.

And here's an example of that:

70 Members of Congress: Curb Wall Street Speculation On Oil | Seventy Democratic members of Congress pushed for measures to prevent Wall Street traders from artificially driving up gas prices, writing “the [Commodity Futures Trading Commission] continues to drag its feet on imposing strict speculation limits to eliminate, prevent, or diminish excessive oil speculation.” The letter cites a recent report from the St. Louis Federal Reserve urging CFTC to reign in speculators from manipulating prices. “If the St. Louis Federal Reserve, a conservative institution, is saying speculation is contributing significantly to the high price of oil and gas at the pump, then I think that is clearly what the case is,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said.

    http://thinkprogress.org/green/2012...congress-curb-wall-street-speculation-on-oil/

That's a crucial win, win, win for us. First and foremost because making this statement today means oil and gas prices won't go up tomorrow. The speculators don't want to tangle with the regulators. Second, it keeps the focus of the rising gas and oil prices on the people responsible for it. And third and most importantly it shows who's really trying to fight the rising prices.

    Electric cars. Great technology.

The biggest "accessory" for the Chevy Volt is the spare recharger, which is a 120V-to-240V conversion device. Not hard to see why. The Volt has a real-world per-charge range, off the lot, of about forty to fifty miles. But at the rate its batteries degrade from normal use, the per-charge range after a year of operation is somewhere around twenty-to-thirty miles. And that's with minimal traffic. Most buyers of the Volt have a longer round-trip commute, and most buyers commute through near gridlock.

So, people who have owned the car for about a year find that it's necessary to either charge the car at work in order to get home, or replace the batteries (tantamount to replacing the drivetrain of a normal car).

Anyhow, the "accessory" is not subsidized by our taxes, like the rest of the car. And the "accessory" retails for about 8,000 dollars.

    What a deal.

Meanwhile, premium unleaded in Massachusetts now costs about $4.05 at no-name pumps and $4.20 at the Rt. 95 Waltham rest stop.

$4.20 is not high enough. Go green, baby! Higher! Jack that price HIGHER, dude! I want to pay MOARRRRR!!!!!!
