And that's why president Obama and the democrats keep suggesting things like getting the Saudi's to increase production, investigating the speculators, and threatening to tap the strategic reserves.

All of that is what's keeping the price of oil from setting new records.

And you might be very surprised to see what President Obama and the Democrats do between now and that coming election.

But so far at least I think President Obama has handled this brilliantly.

I have a little anecdote to illustrate the mindset that he and others are up against.

As some of you may know, there was a transformer explosion and power outage last night in Boston. Several thousand homes lost power. No looting, however. (What a disappointment for the local leftstream press.) The power outage may not appear to have anything to do with the gasoline prices, but bear with me.

Early this morning, as I sat in a Starbucks deep in the Peoples Republic of Cambridge, Massachusetts, I overheard a telling conversation between a moonbat and a barrista.

Definitions:

Barrista: An idiot who can barely serve coffee.

Moonbat: A ponytailed, bearded (regardless of gender) idiot with multiple doctoral degrees in the Humanities and a wistful longing for the return of Stalinist totalitarianism.


Dialogue:

Moonbat: So, like, the commute is, like awful. Trains backed up everywhere.

Barrista: Like, why?

Moonbat: Cause, like, you know, there was like this huge power outage in Boston last night and it's like riots over there.

[Yet no looting. Pity.]

Barrista: That's, like, awful. Like, what happened?

Moonbat: It was like this huge fire, you know?

Barrista: Wow.

Moonbat: Like, this transformer thing blew and knocked out the whole city. A big explosion and everything.

Moonbat: Yeah, like there's gonna be like an investigation. Like, who knew there's like these buildings right in the city, in neighborhoods, with like these transformer things that can, like, blow up and kill everyone?

What does this have to do with the high gas prices? Read the moonbat's last rant. Who knows that buildings in cities have transformers? Answer: anyone who knows anything about anything, knows that buildings have transformers! SHEESH! We need a bleeping investigation? NO! We need moonbat leftwing socialists to get a goddamned life!

How do they think buildings receive power? Do they think they can power a fifty story tower on solar? Maybe generate electricity with pondscum tanks in the basement? Ten thousand mice running on treadmills to churn electrical turbines? Jesus H. Christ!

These are the morons who think we can do away with oil! These are the idiots who think power companies are holding back on more advanced technology, so they can "price gouge us" to net six or seven cents on the dollar!

Well I just got back from drinking with some of my oil biz friends...

seems there is fixing to be a plant in south Texas to convert nat gas to LNG for export....

I dont know if it has been announced yet but in the next few days I am supposed to get the investment package.....

 

I've heard that as well but was not sure I believed it until now. Because its places like that where you do find out the truth.

That would also help explain why we've still got more than 600 rigs drilling for natural gas when the price of natural gas has not been this low since the 1950's. Down to about $2.30 per MCF I think.
