  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

then there are some who do not want the truth they just want to shift it to their own way of making Obama look bad.....

However I still think Obama has been lax in helping us move to more Nat Gas usage.

Which is exactly why domestic drilling will do little/nothing to help the price at the pump. This is NOT a supply/demand problem. It's Wall St. speculation driving up prices, just like 2008.

You are preaching to the choir....

I have been trying to explain that farther back in the thread....

Kim Kim once said and I am beginning to think it is a conspiracy to make Obama look bad...however if they would have pushed the Nat Gas Act the first year in office have our diesel 18 wheel trucks would be running Nat Gas right now.

Some people would have us believe that all we have to do is drill like crazy, relax regulations, maintain subsidies, and otherwise do whatever the oil companies want, and all will be well. But all the oil production we could possibly achieve is a blip in the worldwide oil production market. We're at a short-term peak right now, but the overall trend is downward, and has been ever since the U.S. reached peak production around 1970. Likewise, demand is down right now, due primarily to the recession, but will soon begin to increase as the U.S. economy recovers.

And then there's the question of who owns the oil we produce. It's not the U.S. government, it's not the U.S. taxpayers...it's the oil companies. And they'll sell it wherever it makes economic sense for them to sell it. Some people, though, would like us to believe that it's ours and only ours.

Oh yes and it appears to go up a little every three or four days.

On top of that we now have people queueing and filling their tanks and gerrycans because there maybe a strike in the future, if and when the tanker drivers do go on strike we will get a weeks notice.

Tthe government has created this panic buying issue to try and make the union out to be the bad guy, where in reality this as nothing to do with the government it is a union and company issue and nothing at all to do with parliament. What galls me is that they are willing to train and use soldiers to move the fuel, why are they allowed to do this, why are they allowed to use the army as scab labour and strike breakers.

And here's what I cannot believe. People can't look at the rig count and not know we are drilling the living shit out of the US?

We've got nearly 2,00o rigs running right now and 600 of them are still drilling for natural gas when prices haven't been this low since the 1950's.

I worked in the oilfield all my life and its booming right now.

    LOL.

My boat, essentially. CTS. Nice car. 8 cylinder/32 valve, correct? Me, too. (German.)

Randy, don't you think that if the EPA were not fricking insane, and if the checkboard of mandated "mixes" were eliminated, the oil companies just might be willing to sell all of that stockpiled gas here, rather than ship it halfway around the world, to places that are not screwed up the ass by the EPA?

For that matter, if the EPA and all the other long arms of state and federal government did not require upward of 35 distinct permits to bring a well to production, don't you think the oil companies might be willing to do more than just exploratory drilling on more of those leases that they purchased in the Clinton and Bush years?

Then again, if the EPA were not totally insane (or better yet, did not exist), the HOVENSA refinery would not have closed, and other refineries currently in the process of being shaken down would not be threatening to close.

And the coal fired plants would not be threatening to close.

BTW, good op-ed in the WSJ yesterday by a Princeton physicist who discusses the inconvenient truth that CO2-caused warming has been essentially flat since 1997 and does not match the computer models... that feedback-induced greenhouse warming has not panned out... that the incidence of extreme weather is essentially unchanged over the past hundred years... that the oceans are not rising (I suppose Obama can take credit for that one, as a campaign promise fulfilled)....

I guess I am wondering when the insanity will abate. When people stop getting their news from Youtube, and start reading newspapers again, I suppose. Which means, never.

Once again the price of gasoline and diesel goes up when oil prices are stable or like today actually lower.

When will you guys wake up to just how bad you're being fucked by a world oil monopoly that's milking this for all its worth. How come suddenly the price of oil has noting to do with the price of gasoline and diesel.

In the meantime natural gas, which all our cars and trucks will run on just as well as gasoline, is at its lowest prices since the 1950's and we are sitting here and paying $4 per gallon so gasoline and diesel can be our biggest EXPORTS.

This is all part of Obama's energy plan. Price of oil goes down while the price of gas goes up.

Why don't you explain to us Obama's energy policy. All I see in your posts is a bunch of finger pointing without any substantiated facts. I'd like to know how you can blame Obama for the high price of gas yet did not blame G.W. Bush when the price of gas was $4 per gallon back in 07-08.

W sure took a lot of heat from the press when it went up during his administration. If it was Bush's fault then, then it must be Obama's fault now.

I am not blaming Obama personally.

I am blaming the EPA, and Obama's energy czar, and the Green policies of his administration. So I suppose, indirectly he takes the blame, since this menagerie is operating under his watch, with zero coherency.

I just want him to lead, and fix it. But I won't get that.

Meanwhile, I'm sick and tired of hearing how the Big Evil Oil Oligarchy is profiteering and choking our energy supply for profit.

Here's how well they're doing, despite record numbers of wells, and all the leases they are sitting on, and all the pipelines they want but don't really need, and so on:

Valero Energy idled its Aruba refinery yesterday. No longer profitable.

Conoco-Phillips is spinning off its refining business, including a refinery it has spent a decade building.

Royal Dutch Shell PLC and Saudi Arabian Oil are exporting U.S. refined oil to more profitable markets.

Sunoco Inc. has posted $900 million in losses over the past thre years, and will be shutting its third East Coast refinery this coming July (if they cannot sell it).

    Forces on the market:

    1. Crude prices. Many U.S. refineries use foreign Brent Crude, which (as of yesterday) costs $18.21 more than domestic sources. (HollyFrontier Corp. is an exception: its refineries are currently profitable, because it uses Canadian supplies.)

    2. Decreased domestic demand. Although domestic miles driven are up 1.3% in December, the U.S. fleet has become more efficient.

    (source - WSJ)

Of course, the refinery operating costs would not be such a deal-breaker if the EPA were not cutting their narrow operating margins with spurious and gratuitously punitive regulations.

The March 28 WSJ has a related story, about how the EPA is killing the coal industry by making it effectively impossible to build new coal plants. This would seem unrelated, but the Feds are going to have a hard time selling "electric" cars to the American public, if we cannot burn coal to fuel them. 48.3% of U.S. electricity is generated by coal, which is why I enjoy pissing off the moonbats by saying that the Chevy Volt and its ilk are coal-fired cars.
