Since this event became national news quite a few white men are lying dead in morgues because they were killed by blacks.

 

No-one looks good on a morgue slab either now that you are being silly. They could have used that photo to prejudice the masses further.

 

And therefore Trayvon Martin's family and Al Sharpton should not seek justice?

 

Take off your blinders and see things the way they really are, DL. Black-on-white violence is typically NOT race-based. Not always, but typically. It is simply crime. White on black violence often IS race-based. Furthermore, black people who commit crimes seldom go free (even when they turn out to be innocent), and are usually punished more severely than a white person would be under similar circumstances. We have a long history of white-on-black violence going unpunished. So let's face it, the justice system is racially biased. So are many police departments. That's what makes this case a legitimate issue.

 

Why the fuck did they not gather the evidence and present it to a Grand Jury. That would have solved all the problems.

or a camera they don't love. If he'd been killed by another black
this story wouldn't have been anything but local news. "Black
Leaders" don't give a frosty fuck UNLESS it involves a white person.

 

They will but a grand jury is only convened when needed there. The last I heard they were still interviewing people. These things take a little time. They can't go from crime to conviction in an hour like they can on TV.

Many times the press uses the photo that best captures the story. In my past, I had a friend, that when the press did a story about him being entrepeneur of the year, his photo was a smiling, well dressed businessman. A few years later, he was charged with a crime, and his photo was a scowling, bedraggled, character. I hardly recognized him. News is still all hype and ratings, with very little reality at times. The old saying applies, Don't believe anything you read, and only half of what you see, Good advice. Each to their own opinion>

 

Al Sharpton does not care.
Jesse Jackson does not care.
Limbaugh does not care.
Obama does not care.
Romney does not care.

They are all using Martin for their own self promotion.

Watching the debate over this tragedy here has convinced me that most of the posters here don't give a rip about Martin, or Zimmerman, they just want the platform to spew their particular brand of racism and politics.

A tragedy happened. A kid was killed by an overzealous vigilante. The kid may or may not have assaulted the vigilante. The cops screwed up the investigation. The courts (criminal or civil) will ultimately decide justice.

The kid's name could have been Smith from Arkansas and he could have been killed by a white drunk driving an SUV.

It could have been a black girl raped by a football team in a seedy New Jersey bar.

The kid could have been gay and killed by homophobes
or
A lesbian killed by cheerleaders

We'll see this kind of firestorm again thanks to the atomized news environment and the hot heads who have access to it.

And nothing will change.

Kids will still die needlessly, pompous gas bags will use selected tragedies as a platform to spew their stupidity, and blogs like this one will serve as a platform for the rest of us.

And nothing will change.

One may as well hope DL gets why people reject his endless race arguments.

The Martin tragedy is just that. A tragedy. It happens far to often. But, take away the trumped up issue of race, and it's just one of many daily tragedies.

He was killed on the 26 February, how much longer do they need. There were two actors in the drama, one is dead and they know who the other is, they have or must have by now spoken to all the witnesses, they should have collected all the scientific evidence within 24 hours of the event. So how much longer do they need?

 

Although I try to avoid threads started by our resident racists I have to point out something here that apparently all the rest of you are blinded to.

The photos you all are talking about were only for the initial stories and as the story drug on all news media outlets started running more and more pictures of both Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman.

Why is that? Because its a 24/7/365 very competitive news cycle and they run the first pictures they can get their hands on; pure and simple.

Its not a conspiracy. Its logistics you brainwashed fools.

 

PS I call a bullshit on those who claim a news media outlet will use a flattering picture of someone in one instance and then use a deliberately unflattering photo in another instance.

And the reason for that is because its nearly impossible to prove liable on a competent news outlet but real fucking easy to lose a defamation of character suit where a picture might be worth 1,000 words and millions of dollars in a defamation of character suit.

 

I can see that,,fuck,,Sharpton has already convicted and sentenced Zimmerman to death row,,when the facts are not evident yet..
