No, according to me, Zimmerman stalked, pursued, shot and killed a 17 year old. The only point on which I can agree with you is that it's up to a jury to decide his guilt. But therein lies my outrage at this situation. In order for that to happen, he needs to be arrested and charged, which should have happened almost two months ago. It should not have taken this much for a proper investigation to happen.
There has been no talk of the police having taken pictures of Zimmerman's wounds, which is a standard procedure. There is no talk of a medical report from the EMTs who treated Zimmerman. He was not tested for drugs or alcohol in his system on the night in question, which is also standard procedure. His clothing was not taken and processed as evidence.
The night that this happened, the only thing the police had to go on was Zimmerman's account and witness statements that there was an altercation, not who started it. The fact that this seemed good enough for them to say,"That's it, cased closed... nothing more to see here folks" is what absolutely boggles my mind.

 

Without having all the facts and evidence you have the man convicted and sentenced to death row,,(mind boggling),,Investigations,thorough investigation take time, there is no need to botch up a great conviction, is there?

Not all of the investigation is given to the public, threw the media, and for good fucking reason too,,you can't have a jury of your peers when the media loves to take the pre-trial to the streets, and have the man convicted and sentenced to death row,,before he is even charged with a crime.

Now it is time for the prosecutor , beyond a reasonable doubt, threw a jury of his peers,, to have evidence to convict.

Until that time, you all will just need to wallow in your disgruntled attitude.

Perhaps it's because in this case the police department didn't need public out cry to do their jobs. These men have been found, arrested and are either already serving sentence or awaiting trial. The only reason the case you're comparing it to (and I only make this assumption because I've seen your other posts) has made as much of a splash as it did is because that's what it took to even get an arrest. If the men in the case you presented weren't even arrested, trust me, I had made just as big of a deal about it.

You kidding? That story has been floating around for a while now, ever since the Zimmerman story exploded. Personally, it makes me wonder why the news sources that obviously had this story didn't cover it before. It seems a little bit on the opportunistic side to only bring it up when another story about a black victim is playing out.

More likely, though, is that this story did get covered by the news, and there was no outrage because the crime was resolved. If this happened and the police refused to persecute the people involved then there would certainly be an outrage, much like the Zimmerman story. That's the thing that people don't seem to understand about that comparison - the scenarios are nowhere close to comparable.

Absolutely right. I've seen a few of these comparisons pop up since the whole Zimmerman/Martin thing has started, but none of them are relevant. The story of the couple of tourist who were killed in Florida and the man who was attacked by a group, beaten and stripped are the ones I've seen the most. Both HORRIBLE crimes. BUT in both of those cases law enforcement didn't hesitate to try and catch and convict the people who committed the crimes (as should be the case). People are intentionally ignoring that the outrage has come from the fact that there was no arrest made initially and it's taken a hell of a lot of media coverage for us to get to this point. They're making mental leaps that would have Superman stunned in trying to compare the two cases. Other then the fact that the parties involved were black on white crime vs white on black crime, there's literally almost NO similarities between the two. Show me a story where a black man gunned down and killed a white teenager and there was no arrest made initially or a man hunt for the perpetrator and then maybe I'll put some credence in their idea that the plight of white people every where is ignored.

 

This story had some coverage when it happened but not as much as one would think. Remember when the black woman accused the Duke lacrosse players of gang raping her? Rev Al and Jessie Jackson went ape shit, and rightly so, but when the races are reversed they are nowhere to be found. Then the woman recanted her story about the Duke team. Well im sure those Duke guys did something.g wrong to deserve being accused of rape so it's all good. No real hard done.

 

And I understand the difference in this story and the Trayvon Martin case. Police did a fucked up job. The point is when it is black on black or black on white crimes much of the media turns a blind eye.
