why should it be anything different. why is it so hard to understand that homosexuals love each other just as much as strait people. why does it have to be called a civil union.

 

I'm Christian and don't have a problem with gay marriage. However, like a poster above, churches who are uncomfortable in performing the ceremonies should not be forced to do so. You then would be violating their freedom of rights. Also, just because something was written in the old testament, doesn't make it obsolete. If that were true, murder, theft, bestiality, and numerous things would be ok to do. Don't go twisting things just so they fit your ideals.

Ofcourse gays shoould be allowed to marry. That way the numbers of offspring per sample of population will fall adoption will increase and demographic rationalization will occur without government interfereonce. Plus do we at all care if gays marry or not? Is it affecting our food supply? Our electricity? I'm all for deletion of gays as a category under section 377 and allowing for gay marriages cause it doesn't affect me at a micro level and at the macro, well I already mentioned the good points.

 

What a lot of straight guys do not realise is that for every gay man there is a spare woman for the heteros amongst us, lesbians however appear to be selfish bitches.

There is no logical or moral reason for two people not to be able to be married.

Most married (or committed) gays or lesbian couples, that we know, have a better track record of staying together than the heteros have. Off the top of my head, only one of 20+ same sex couples, that we know, have split. While about 25% of the man/woman couples have seperated.
