So I dont see how microsoft is comparing them selfs two Apple and saying that vista is going to out preform apple? I dont know what the future of IT holds but we will see soon enough.

 

Im a big fan of Linux, I dual boot with knoppix. I love the anti microsoft wallpaper, also have one of the default xp telletubby wallpaper, with a linux penguin in a buggy, trying to catch the microsoft butterfly in a net. :mrgreen:

 

Not sure if your talking about just the OS but, PC's outperform macs easily. Don't buy into those lame commercials, "How come PC's have so many more viruses?" Obviously cause less people own Macs. Also I have ran with out a Anti virus program every since my AMD Duron, when i was 13. I'm 20 now and have only came across 1 virus because i was being a tard and DL'ed from a unfamiliar site.

Now speaking on apple's OS X vs. vista or windows XP, a lot of articles lean towards OS X. HOWEVER, this is just in standalone terms. PC has way more programs to add and also has way more support for a variety of programs. So in the end, if you know what to get along with windows it will easily surpass OS X.

Onto hardware, PC beats mac hands down in this area. Again for lack of support and not always being on top of latest technology is what makes MAC less. I am speaking, of course, to people who build their own computers. Brand names IMO are always more costly in the long run.

Re: Vista.....was on a download site and there were comments about Vista compared to XP, guess what, Vista drains laptops in half the time of XP, this person ran and showed tables of comparison with accessories and without, the difference was like one hour for vista and two hours for XP.

He also said that Vista does not run games as fast either, and he compared I think on the same computer.

Me, I'm NOT getting Vista with all the nasty tricks that Microsoft is always pulling. I just found out recently that if you don't use IE you can't download SP2 for XP, but who needs it anyway. I see no difference in anything except these continual updates that I believe are mainly for the benefit of Microsoft not the user. So I turned off updates.

Hey neon, you have to try Bit Lord. I used to use Azureus, but if I let it run for 2 or 3 days, then it killed my computer. That program is a memory hog monster, probably cause its java based, but since I switched to Bit Lord, I have had no problems.

Apple is full of shit too, some of their problems are just as bad as windows, only that you're locked with a mac and its potential is limited, especially now with the mac's being made with intel chips, you're better off just getting linux which has NO viruses and just running it instead of windows

 

one major flaw of macs - u cant build ur own, and upgrade a part when u get some dosh. they may look a little cool, their OS is more stable than windows, but in the end, windows is far more customizable and far more programs are created for windows.
